2000 Subaru Impreza P1

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Just 1,000 Impreza P1s were produced, all of which were finished in Sonic Blue, developed by Prodrive, based on the JDM STI Type-R body shell, and with Peter Stevens-designed body styling. 
• As standard, all P1s are equipped with uprated coil springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars, alongside a set of OZ Racing wheels, and a large rear wing. 
• This example’s cabin is finished in grey cloth and synthetic suede, with blue inserts on the seat backs and bolsters, and red stitching. 
• It rides on a set of grey 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, housing Prodrive-branded Alcon brakes and fitted with Bridgestone Potenza tyres. 
• Equipment includes electric front windows, air conditioning, and auxiliary gauges on the centre console for voltage, temperature, and turbocharger boost pressure.  
• Accompanying the sale is the service book, launch paperwork, toolkit, and jack. 

CONDITION

• The seller believes that both rear arches have been rebuilt, and notes that the inner and outer sills have recently been professionally repaired.

• Specific notes from the seller include: stone chips on the nearside rear quarter panel and front bumper, and minor wear marks on the interior including on the driver’s seat. 
• The seller reports that the air conditioning requires re-gassing. 
• The most recent MOT test was conducted on 22 December 2023 at 111,709 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with advisories for surface rust on the steering rods and corrosion on the front and rear subframes. 

SERVICE HISTORY

• The car was last serviced at 111,900 miles by Bulldog Subaru Twyford, who also replaced the rear brake callipers and discs, alternator, rear brake pipes, and crank pulley. 
• Prior to this, a service was carried out in August 2021, which included welding the rear arch around the suspension mounts, repairing the seat tray, refurbishing the Alcon brake callipers, and replacing the rear differential bush, cam belt, engine knock sensor, wheel nuts, front Alcon brake discs, front brake pads and hoses, and brake and clutch pedal rubbers.
• During the seller’s eight-year ownership, the car has been professionally undersealed, a new recirculating dump valve and Hayward & Scott exhaust have been installed to the original specification, and the inner sills, outer sills, pollen filter, cabin filter, and MAF sensor have been replaced. 

SUMMARY

The Subaru Impreza P1 is often considered one of the most desirable iterations of the lauded rally-derived performance car, and was developed by British motorsport and engineering outfit Prodrive using the two-door bodyshell from the JDM-only STI Type R. This example has been treated to a healthy programme of restorative and corrective maintenance during that time. It would now make a wonderful addition to any enthusiast’s garage, an exciting weekend plaything, and a welcome entrant at any car show or event.
