This Range Rover Vogue is a fine example of the second-generation luxury SUV, presented in a classic Epsom Green finish and benefitting from more than £17,000 of maintenance and refurbishment work over the last seven years. Under the bonnet is the 4.6-litre V8 engine producing around 215bhp, coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. The odometer shows 100,800 miles from new, comprehensively documented by a substantial service history file.
First registered in October 2000, this Range Rover’s previous owner had it extensively restored by marque specialists, with Kingsley Land Rover said to have cited it as a particularly well-cared for example of the P38.
The finely crafted bodywork of this Range Rover Vogue is not believed to have ever suffered from any significant damage, and presents extremely well. The vendor does note that cosmetic repairs have previously been carried out on the front and rear bumpers, offside doors and offside rear quarter panel, before they were resprayed.
Overall, the Epsom Green metallic paintwork is in great shape, with a smooth finish across the entire car, and with few imperfections as the extensive set of images below shows. This P38’s iconic lines have been highlighted by red pinstripes, which have been applied to its flanks, and there are red ‘Range Rover’ decals on the tail badging; however, the finish is faded and flaking slightly.
A metal dog mascot takes pride of place in the centre of the bonnet, which could always be removed by the next owner if desired. The car sits on a set of 18-inch two-piece Land Rover wheels, which were manufactured by BBS and were supplied and fitted in 2013. All four are in very good order, with no major blemishes, marks or kerb scratches to speak of.
In the cabin, Lightstone leather and wooden trim help to create an air of luxury, and while there is some minor wear to the interior, this is commensurate with the vehicle’s mileage. The heated front seats present well, with only minor creasing on the upholstery. Other trim is in very good order overall, though the headlining is sagging slightly, which is a common foible of the P38.
Retrofitted front and rear parking sensors help to make manoeuvring this 4x4 a more straightforward task, and the car’s air-conditioning works as it should thanks to the fitment of a replacement condenser radiator and system recharge, which was carried out in 2013.
Entertainment is provided via an aftermarket CD player paired with Harmon Kardon speakers. This P38 model also has satellite navigation, though the seller has never tried to use it. They report that all of the interior buttons and switches are currently working without fault, and that there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.
Mechanically, this P38-generation Range Rover is in fine fettle, with its previous owner sparing no expense to ensure it was kept in excellent running condition. The car’s most recent routine service was carried out on 19 December 2018 at 97,450 miles, when Martins of Andover replaced the engine oil and oil filter, as well as greasing the prop shaft.
Prior to this, Millway Vehicle Specialists performed a general oil service in November 2017 at 95,475 miles, and also fabricated and installed new brake pipes in November 2016 at 91,385 miles.
Other items which have been replaced include the suspension springs, air suspension compressor, front and rear shock absorbers and anti-roll bar, and the front and rear brake discs and pads; with specialist Kingsley Land Rover carrying out the work between September 2013 and December 2015, as itemised below.
The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 14 January 2021 at 100,671 miles, which it passed first time, with the tester noting only that there was deterioration of the rubber dust covers on both the offside and nearside front lower suspension arm ball joints.
All four wheels are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tyres in size 255/55 R18, which the vendor describes as being in good condition, having been fitted in December 2017 – and having covered only 5,000 miles since then.
This luxury SUV will be accompanied by its original maintenance record that documents 16 services from 2001 onwards, as well as a huge file of documents and receipts detailing its extensive service history back to 2003, comprising invoices for more than £28,000 of maintenance and refurbishment work.
This Range Rover Vogue is a handsome modern classic, which has been well-cared for to keep it in impressive cosmetic and mechanical condition. Fitted with the desirable 4.6-litre V8 engine and presented in a classic factory colour scheme, it would make a welcome addition to any collection, and is ready to tackle whatever the British roads and weather can throw at it.
