2000 MAZDA RX-7 RS (FD)

KEY FACTS

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Finished in red over black, it retains a highly original appearance, with the 18-inch SSR wheels with Yokohama AD08 tyres being the only visible upgrade.
• As a Type RS model, it was originally fitted with Bilstein suspension; however it currently rides on a BC Racing coil-over setup. However, the original wheels and suspension items are included in the sale.
• Sold with compliance and import approval papers from when it was brought into Australia in April 2018.

CONDITION

• The bodywork is straight and the panels fit well. Exterior components like the adjustable rear wing and pop-up headlights are in great condition and are fully functional.
• Having been resprayed in Japan, the paintwork is excellent, presenting only very minor signs of wear including minor stone chipping on the headlight cover.
• The factory interior is retained and has been very well-cared for, with only minor wear evident, as shown in the photo gallery.
• All of the interior electronics, controls and gauges work as they should.
• The RX-7 passed its last roadworthy inspection in February, 2021, with no warnings or advisories presented

SERVICE HISTORY

• It was given a full service at 67,000 km in March, 2021, including renewal of the fluids.
• During the current ownership, a boost leak caused by the original rubber piping was fixed, and the lower control arm bushing and water pump were replaced.

SUMMARY

Benefitting from all of the development work that went into building and then refining the RX-7, this late-model car in desirable Type RS specification is in excellent condition throughout. With all original components included, it could easily be put back to full ‘stock’ setup, and given its low indicated mileage it is sure to appeal to both collectors and keen drivers alike.
