KEY FACTS

• An elegant example of Ferrari’s 550 Maranello, a classic, powerful and refined grand tourer.
• Under the bonnet sits a 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 478bhp, powering the rear wheels through an open-gate six-speed manual gearbox.
• This was Ferrari’s return to the days of producing substantial grand tourers, with its two-seater coupe body and front-engined V12 picking up where the famous 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ left off.
• While the car was damaged and subject of an insurance write-off in 2007, it was subsequently fully repaired and now presents superbly.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• It is specified in the sophisticated combination of Nero Daytona Black over Crema leather.
• The car’s list of features includes: electrically adjustable seats with embossed head restraints, a quilted leather rear shelf, Scuderia wing shields, and the original five-spoke alloy wheels with red brake callipers.
• It is also equipped with a stainless-steel Supersprint sports exhaust, Ferrari embossed sill plates and a 6-CD autochanger.

CONDITION

• The car’s rear bodywork and other related elements has been repaired or replaced following a rear-end collision that occurred around 14 years ago. All invoices are present for the repair work carried out. Not to be confused with cars that may have had poor repairs; this 550 Maranello was fully inspected by Autolign in 2019, confirming that work was done to a professional and safe standard, and that the car was subsequently removed from the active Condition Alert Register.
• The Nero Daytona Black paint is now in excellent condition following a respray two years ago, exhibiting a deep metallic shine. The only known blemishes are one stone chip on the bonnet and two on the bumper grille.
• The car’s original Crema leather interior is in very good condition, with some signs of use visible on the leather seats. There is some gentle creasing on the driver’s seat backrest and some discolouration to the trim around the door handle.
• Two small cracks are present in the plastic trim surrounding the boot latch, and there is some minor scuffing to the optional leather-lined rear shelf.
• There are no known mechanical or electrical faults. The owner states that the battery drains when not on charge, which is common in many Ferrari models, so it would benefit from being connected to a trickle charger when not in use.
• The most recent MOT test was in January 2019 at 30,373 miles, when the car passed on its second attempt. The advisories were that the brake fluid was close to the minimum mark and that slight play was recorded in the offside inner track rod end ball joint.
• The owner has stated that the car will receive a fresh MOT certificate in readiness for its new owner.

• The most recent known maintenance was in October 2007 at 22,103 miles. Prior to this, it was serviced in June 2006 at 16,872 miles, when the cam belts were changed.

The car was recorded under Category C in 2007, but was subsequently put through professional repairs and a full respray, and was inspected by Autolign in July 2019. As a result, the car has been removed from the Vehicle Condition Alert Register and has been placed upon the Vehicle Condition Inspected Register.
