This 2000 BMW Z3M is a particularly low-mileage example of the marque’s modern classic sports coupe, presented in excellent condition. Under the bonnet sits a 3.2-litre S50 straight-six engine producing 316bhp and 260lb-ft of torque, partnered with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential. The odometer currently indicates just 19,774 miles from new.

First registered in September 2000, this Z3 M Coupe has five previous keepers on the log book, and has been with its current keeper for the last year.

The bodywork of this Z3M Coupe presents in excellent condition, and to the best of the vendor’s knowledge, has never sustained any damage. Its Titan Silver paint appears to be in superb condition, and even the vulnerable front end presents with a clean finish free of any stone chips. The roof features an electric glass sunroof, which is in good working order. The car rides on the correct set of 17-inch wheels, which are in very good condition, showing a small mark on the offside front wheel and a nick in the paint on the nearside rear wheel. All four wheels retain the original BMW centre caps and M badges.

Moving inside, the car’s full black leather upholstery remains in excellent order, presenting with just some very light age-related wrinkles. Both seats are heated, and there is also air-conditioning. An aftermarket Sony stereo system has been installed, with DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Otherwise, the cabin remains unmodified, and with minimal wear to the primary contact points. All of the car’s electrics are reported to work as they should, while no warning lights are present on the dashboard.

The last service was undertaken in January 2020 at 18,421 miles, where technicians at Berry Thames Ditton BMW in Surbiton changed the engine oil, oil filter, air filter and brake fluid, before repairing an issue with the fan heater and carrying out a visual health check. The check reported no issues, as is shown in the gallery below.

Prior to this, in January 2019, Harry Fairbairn BMW in Glasgow fitted new front brake discs and pads, as well as a new nearside front brake calliper at 16,625 miles. The vendor indicates the service before this was undertaken in April 2018 at 12,472 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 5 November 2020 at 19,693 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The wheels come wrapped with a set of Continental tyres which remain in good condition all round, with around 7mm of tread left on both front tyres and 5-6mm left on both rears – as evidenced by the aforementioned health check just 1,300 miles ago.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s handbooks, first aid kit and toolkit, as well as a range of maintenance invoices and MOT certificates.

This BMW Z3 M Coupe is a great example of the iconic performance car, presented in impressive cosmetic condition and in sound mechanical order. Boasting a rev-happy straight-six, rear-wheel drive and an engaging manual transmission; the Z3 M may have esoteric styling, but it is an exciting and engaging driver’s car, which would be a credit to any collection.
