2000 AUDI RS4 AVANT

This Audi RS4 Avant is a superb high-performance estate car, and an unmolested example of a desirable modern classic. Under the bonnet is the 2.7-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine, producing around 375bhp, coupled to the Quattro all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 99,184 miles from new.

First registered in November 2000, this car has just two previous registered keepers on the log book. It was specified from the factory in Avus Silver, and with the half-leather and cloth interior option, and the car remains completely unmodified. The seller acquired the RS4 one year ago.

Its bodywork is evidently in very good order, with impressive shut lines and consistent panel gaps all around the car. The Avus Silver paint has been professionally resprayed in places and presents in very good order throughout. The seller notes one small scratch on a rear three-quarter panel, and the odd stone chips from road use. Otherwise, as the detailed set of photos shows, this is an impressive example of the model. It rides on the original 18-inch nine-spoke alloy wheels, which are all in superb condition, and fitted with the correct centre caps.

In the cabin, there is no visible damage to the seat upholstery, and only general wear commensurate with the age and mileage. Its front seats feature full electric adjustment and heating. The gear knob trim is worn and slightly loose, and there are some minor nicks and light scratches in the plastic trims that you would expect from a family car. The carbon-fibre trim strips around the dashboard and door cards are in superb condition, and it retains the original Audi Symphony radio and CD player. The electric sunroof works as it should, and there are no warning lights or known faults with any of the switchgear.

Up until 2012, this RS4 Avant was serviced exclusively at Audi main dealers in Guildford, West London and Walton-on-Thames. Since then it has mainly been cared for by marque specialists. The last scheduled maintenance was in December 2019 at Audi Southampton, consisting of an engine oil service and inspection. While at the dealer, the cam belt was checked and found to be in good order, though there is no paperwork recording its previous renewal. The seller therefore recommends a cam belt change in the near future for further peace of mind.

During the seller’s ownership, he has also had the rear brake discs replaced along with OEM Brembo pads, new CV joint boots to rectify worn parts, and a new battery.

Its most recent MOT test was on 9 April 2020 at 99,105 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. The Bridgestone tyres are virtually brand-new, having covered only 400 miles since being fitted in 2019.

Accompanying the car are all of the original books, including the owner’s manual, stamped warranty and maintenance record, and other user guides. Two keys are also present.
