2000 ASTON MARTIN DB7 VANTAGE - MANUAL

KEY FACTS

  • A handsome example of the refined grand tourer, equipped with an involving manual gearbox and enhanced with upgraded suspension and braking components.
  • Under the bonnet is the 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12, producing 414bhp and coupled to the desirable and lesser-seen six-speed manual transmission.
  • The odometer displays just 36,350 miles from new, which is borne out by the car’s maintenance history.
  • This car benefits from a full restoration of the chassis and underside, totalling some £14,000 of work.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • This DB7 Vantage was specified with sleek and stylish Islay Blue paintwork over a two-tone grey and dark blue leather-trimmed interior, punctuated by burr oak trim.
  • Factory-fitted equipment includes air conditioning and heated front seats with electric adjustment.
  • The car rides on the correct set of 18-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels, which are in very good shape, with only a few very small marks on their surfaces.
  • Modifications include uprated Bilstein suspension dampers, Brembo brake callipers, and a stainless-steel exhaust system from Aston Martin specialist Chicane.
  • Furthermore, the chassis subframes have been replaced at considerable expense, parking sensors have been installed in the front and rear bumpers, and the original radio/CD player has also been changed for a more modern unit.
  • The car will be accompanied by its original owner’s guide and a raft of documents which detail its past maintenance history.

CONDITION

  • No known bodywork damage. The chassis and underside has been restored to a superb standard.
  • Overall the Islay Blue metallic paintwork presents well for its age, with some small marks and blemishes around the car, including stone chips on the car’s nose, scuffs on the lower edge of the front bumper, bubbling behind both rear wheel arches and small areas of lacquer peel on both front wings.
  • Inside, the luxuriously trimmed cabin is in good order. The driver’s seat bolster has surface wear and discolouration, though this could be improved by a re-connolising treatment, and there are blemishes on the front edge of the central armrest, in line with the car’s age and use.
  • There are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the car, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.
  • This DB7 Vantage’s last MOT test was conducted on 8 October 2020 at 36,051 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with one advisory noting that all four tyres were slightly cracked or starting to perish.

SERVICE HISTORY

There is a very good service history file available, with the last scheduled maintenance understood to have been taken place in January 2021 by Aston Martin specialist Chicane.

Some £14,000 has been spent to fully restore the chassis and underside, in order to rectify the common DB7 corrosion.

SUMMARY

This Aston Martin DB7 Vantage is a smart, low mileage example of the elegant sporting GT, which is made all the more appealing by its rare manual transmission. Equipped with uprated brakes and suspension components and boasting a fully restored chassis and underside, this DB7 would make a fine companion for weekend cruises and long distance road trips alike, and could be brought up to a very high standard in the future.
