2000 ASTON MARTIN DB7 VANTAGE - MANUAL

This Aston Martin DB7 Vantage is a handsome sporting grand tourer, presented in a special order Turkish Green finish and a two-tone Ivory and green leather interior. Under the bonnet sits a 5.9-litre V12 engine producing 414bhp, coupled with the rare and desirable six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 84,000 miles from new.

First registered in July 2000, this DB7 Vantage has six previous keepers on the log book, and is now offered for sale by the trade. It has evidently been well-maintained throughout its life, and its impressive condition arguably belies the indicated mileage.

The Turkish Green paintwork on the sleek bodywork of this DB7 is in very good overall condition, with the vendor noting just a few minor blemishes, including some bubbling where the offside rear quarter panel meets the rear bumper, and a very small bubble on top of the nearside front wing. There are minor marks elsewhere that you would expect, but in general this is a very well-presented example of the breed. The light lenses, body trims and Vantage badging all appear in good order, while the car rides on a set of 18-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels, which are in excellent condition on all four corners having just been refurbished.

Moving inside, the cabin of this DB7 features a two-tone colour scheme, with Ivory leather covering the seats and lower dashboard, and green leather covering the door cards. The floor features a plush green carpet, which presents without any heavy wear or damage. The seats have some light creasing and surface cracks, but otherwise present superbly for a car that celebrated its 20th birthday this year. The walnut trim on the centre console, three-spoke steering wheel and door cards presents with minimal wear, while the dashboard controls and switches all appear to be in good order. Everything is reported to work as it should, and there are no warning lights present on the dashboard.

The car has an extensive service history, and has had recent mechanical work within the last two years and less than 1,000 miles ago. An invoice from Mulsanne Motors dated to 2015 shows a major suspension refurbishment, as well as attention to the brakes and other items at a cost of around £5,000.

The most recent MOT test was on 12 April 2019 at 83,576 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. The car initially failed due to a seat belt warning lamp indicating a fault, though this was rectified and the car passed on a re-test the following week. The vendor notes that the car will be handed over with a fresh 12-month MOT certificate. The wheels are wrapped with a set of Bridgestone tyres all round, which the vendor reports are all in good condition.

Accompanying the vehicle are all of the original handbooks, including a stamped service book and numerous corresponding invoices. The space-saver spare wheel, jack and basic tools are also present.

This Aston Martin DB7 Vantage is an elegant sporting GT, finished in what may well be a unique special order hue, and equipped with the rare manual transmission. While very low-mileage cars might be the collector’s choice, a car that has been enjoyed on the road and regularly serviced should perhaps be the driver’s choice. Combining timelessly glamorous looks with a sonorous V12, this Aston Martin would be a fun addition to any collection of modern classics, not to mention a smart performance car to use on fair weather weekends and road trip adventures.
