• A rare, limited-edition example of the practical Japanese performance wagon, presented in an ever-popular colour scheme and benefitting from a recent service.
  • Under the bonnet is the 276bhp ‘EJ20’ 2.0-litre turbocharged boxer engine, with all-wheel drive via a five-speed manual transmission.
  • First registered in November 1999, this Japanese domestic market model is one of only 500 examples of the STI Version 6 produced globally in the Sport Wagon configuration.
  • It was approved for use on Australian roads in May 2021.

  • In total, 5,500 examples of the WRX STI Version 6 were built to mark the end of the first-generation model’s production, only 500 of which were in the Sport Wagon configuration.
  • This example is finished with Pure White paintwork, while seats are trimmed in black and red cloth with grey synthetic suede centre sections.
  • Equipment on the Version 6 includes twin rear spoilers, STI fog light covers, STI side skirts and roof rails.
  • Inside, standard features include front bucket seats, a Momo sports steering wheel, a leather-trimmed gear knob, STI sports pedals and white STI gauge faces.
  • The engine was tuned at the factory to produce 276bhp, and features a larger intercooler, an IHI turbocharger, sodium-filled valves, and stronger pistons.
  • The car rides on its original 16-inch, six-spoke Version 6 wheels, which are finished with gold paintwork.
  • The factory CD player has been replaced with a Kenwood double DIN unit.
  • The vehicle is supplied with its original handbooks and tool kit.

  • There is no known body damage.
  • The Pure White paintwork is thought to have been resprayed in the past and is described by the vendor as being in excellent overall condition. However, there are some minor stone chips on the front bumper, as well as a small mark on the underside edge of the boot lid, which is in line with the car’s road use.
  • Inside, the cabin is very smart overall, though there is some wear on the driver’s seat bolsters, commensurate with the car’s age and mileage.
  • There are no known mechanical or electrical faults.
  • The car’s most recent roadworthy inspection was performed in July 2021, which it passed without any warnings or advisories.

  • This Impreza’s most recent service was performed in July 2021 by CJF Automotive, whose technicians changed the engine oil and oil filter, as well as carrying out a full vehicle inspection.

This Subaru Impreza WRX STI is a particularly late-production example of the first-generation model, and is one of the only 500 Version 6 Sports Wagons built, making it an especially rare Japanese modern classic. Boasting a number of STI enhancements and all of the practicality a five-door estate car can provide, this Impreza will surely delight its next owner every time they take to their favourite roads, but should also prove to be a steadfast daily driver or family hauler for many more miles to come.
