1999 PORSCHE 911 (996) GT3 - LHD

This Porsche 996.1 GT3 is a very well-presented example of a legendary 911, which combines touring comfort with honed GT model dynamics. It is powered by the 3.6-litre flat-six ‘Mezger’ engine producing around 355bhp, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 75,938 km (47,186 miles) from new.

A 2000 model year car, delivered on 12 August 1999, this GT3 was supplied by Porsche dealer Raulet Automobiles in Le Mans, France. It is believed to be a one owner car, and all of the prior stamped services took place in northern France. It was imported to the UK and re-registered in May 2017, and was kept by one owner on these shores until the seller acquired it in October 2019.

The seller reports that the bodywork presents in excellent condition, with no damage whatsoever. Furthermore, he notes that the depth of the Arctic Silver finish has been measured, and that as a result all paint on the car is believed to be original. The car is also reported to retain the original welds on the front wings and on the rear wings under the boot lid. Its alloys have been swapped to the 18-inch 996.2 wheels, and are finished in gloss black, along with the door mirror caps and rear badge.

In the cabin this 911 features the supportive and comfortable sport seats trimmed in black leather, making this a great GT3 for longer-distance touring. The factory specification also includes air-conditioning, the CDR-22 stereo, CD compartment, and extended leather over the dashboard and door centre panels. There are red seat belts, believed to be one of the Porsche Exclusive options detailed on the build sticker, as well as aluminium inlays for the handbrake grip and gear knob. The interior trim presents in very good order, with only light wear commensurate with the low mileage.

Its last maintenance was carried out by Porsche specialist Fearnsport in November 2019 at 74,960km. This consisted of a post-sale inspection, as well as replacement of the spark plugs and refurbished ignition coils. Fearnsport also noted that a GT3 Cup air filter was currently installed and not original, so the next owner may wish to change this back to standard.

Prior to this, its most recent services in France were in April 2017 at 73,660km, which included a 111-point inspection and renewal of the brake fluid and pads at Porsche Centre Roissy, and in April 2015 at 69,323km at Porsche specialist CG Motorsport in Normandy.

The most recent MOT test was on 25 January 2020 at 75,141 km, when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. Its N4-rated Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are reported to be in very good condition.

Accompanying the car is the original GT3 owner’s manual, stamped warranty and service booklet, and the stereo user guide, stored in the original black wallet. Several recent invoices are also present to support the well-documented history. All of the original tools are also present.

This Porsche 996.1 GT3 is a low-mileage example of one of the marque’s seminal track-focused road cars. Its analogue driving experience is sure to excite the keen driver, while its condition and history make this a great example to add to a discerning Porsche collection. The seller reports that it is running and driving very well, and in left-hand drive it is perfect for continental road trips or track days alike.
