1999 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVO VI RS450 Extreme

KEY FACTS

  • A unique opportunity to own one of the rarest Lancer Evolutions ever built, understood to be one of only four RS450s produced, of which three now remain.
  • Its Ralliart-prepared 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine produces around 438bhp and 412lb-ft of torque, delivered to all four wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox.
  • The RS450 evolved from the already-advanced Evo VI RSII, removing the Anti-Yaw Control (AYC) and Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) in order to save weight and give the driver maximum control.
  • An original UK-market car, first registered in March 2000, it has been with its current owner for the last 12 years.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • Celebrating the Evo’s last true success in motorsport, the RS450 boasts a Ralliart-blueprinted engine with competition-spec crankshaft, connecting rods and forged pistons, as well as high-lift cams, competition head gasket and lightened valves.
  • The car’s modifications include: an MHI-upgraded turbocharger, C-Tec 3-inch modular elbow and downpipe, Prospeed 3-inch stainless steel exhaust, Radtec high-capacity intercooler, Exedy twin-plate clutch, phosphor bronze gear linkage bush kit, KW Clubsport coilovers and adjustable front top mounts, and NR brake cooling ducts.
  • It rides on Speedline Turini 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with Toyo R888R tyres. The original Work Meister wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres are also included in the sale.
  • For extra security, the car is fitted with a Trafficmaster tracking system as well as a Cobra alarm and immobiliser.
  • The car comes with the original owner’s handbook, document holder and toolkit as well as comprehensive paperwork detailing all work undertaken on the vehicle.

CONDITION

  • The front splitter was damaged approximately six years ago and replaced with a new OEM part. The owner believes that the front bumper was previously resprayed.
  • The paintwork is described as excellent and mostly original. A small chip to the nearside front is present, as well as a few other minor stone chips to the front bumper and bonnet.
  • Overall, the original cloth interior is in excellent condition, with only modest signs of use and very light wear to some of the fabric.
  • The only known faults are that the intercooler spray is non-functional, which the owner believes is due to a faulty switch. The owner also states that on very rare occasions, the starter motor will fail to engage.
  • The most recent MOT test was in July 2021 at 61,753 miles, passing first time with no advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • The car was most recently serviced in August 2020 at 61,060 miles by Indigo-GT Automotive where it received replacement engine oil and filter, transmission fluid, brake fluid, differential fluid, engine coolant, timing belt, spark plugs and rear suspension bushes.
  • Prior to this, the car was serviced in September 2019 at 60,554 miles, and in September 2018 at 59,538 miles, also by Indigo-GT Automotive.
  • The owner states that comprehensive documentation of work undertaken on the car is included in the sale.
