1999 FERRARI 355 F1 GTS

This Ferrari 355 F1 GTS is an exciting contemporary supercar, presented in a lesser-seen factory colour, and in good cosmetic condition. Under the engine cover is the glorious 375bhp 3.5-litre V8, coupled to a six-speed automated transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows 73,878 km.

First registered in March 1999 and supplied to the German market via Ferrari Hamburg, this 355 F1 GTS has been well maintained by previous owners. A recent Classic Data inspection report gives it an impressive grade 2 rating. The vendor has owned the car for the last year.

This Ferrari’s sleek bodywork is in excellent condition, with no signs of any previous damage or any corrosion. Even the typically vulnerable areas such as the rear buttress joins are in great shape with no blistering in the Argento Nurburgring paint. It has previously been treated to some remedial paintwork and polishing to bring the car up to an excellent standard, and also features a colour-coded targa top panel. The car rides on the original 18-inch magnesium alloy wheels, which are in superb order.

Inside, the black leather upholstery presents very well for its age, with only modest wear. There are some light creases in the bolsters, but no damage or heavy discolouration. The dashboard, door cards, and transmission tunnel trim is also all in excellent condition. There is some noticeable wear around the gear shift paddles, and some stickiness to the switches around the heating and ventilation controls - which is very common with 1990s Ferraris. It is equipped with what appears to be a period-correct Grundig radio cassette head unit, and the vendor reports no faults with any of the switchgear or electrics.

This Ferrari’s last scheduled maintenance was in June 2017 at 71,879 km. It is overdue for a service - as well as replacement of the cambelts - on time rather than mileage, but has been set with a realistic estimate taking this into consideration.

Its TÜV roadworthiness certificate has been renewed for the next owner’s peace of mind, and all four tyres are reported to be in good condition. Accompanying the car is the original warranty card and service booklet, as well as an extensive history file containing numerous invoices.

This Ferrari 355 F1 GTS is a sought-after 1990s supercar, boasting a characterful naturally aspirated V8, and one of the best exhaust noises of any modern era Ferrari. Presented in a demure colour scheme, this Italian icon would be a great addition to any collection.
