1996 TOYOTA SUPRA

KEY FACTS

  • This Japan-delivered 1996 Toyota Supra is presented in excellent and rare-to-find original condition with strong mechanicals and a well-understood history.
  • The engine is a naturally-aspirated 2JZ-GE inline-six, which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
  • A fully-equipped series one SZ-R Supra presented in original condition down to the intact yellow tags on the bolts designed to break once the bumper is removed.
  • The car was imported into Australia in 2017 with 84,000km showing on its odometer.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • This is a series one SZ-R Supra, which came from the factory with a Torsen limited slip differential, Bilstein suspension and ABS.
  • It has been maintained in original condition and specification outside of the period aftermarket wheels and JASMA (Japan Automotive Sports Muffler Association) Japanese exhaust.
  • An aftermarket 0-100 timer was also installed in the interior in Japan, along with a Carrozzeria head unit.
  • The car sports rare Euro specification glass headlights in excellent condition, along with an optioned leather roof lining.
  • Sold with auction papers, Japanese registration papers and all Australian documentation including import documents and a comprehensive collection of service receipts.

CONDITION

  • To the best available information, the car is presented with no accident history. There is a small dent in the passenger side rear quarter. Some exterior window plastics have faded slightly.
  • Paint is original outside of minor touch ups and is in good original condition. The most obvious flaw is the failing clear coat in the passenger side front quarter, while on the driver’s front corner some paint spots can be found. There are some minor scratches on the passenger side rear quarter and crows feet on the rear bumper. Both door handles and aeropods have faded.
  • The interior is also original outside of the aforementioned timer and head unit, and has been very well preserved. There is a small hole in the driver’s seat and a scratch in the interior rear window, as well as some to-be-expected wear in high-touch areas like the steering wheel and gear knob. Roof, floor and door linings present well and trim is in good original condition.
  • The Supra demonstrates no major mechanical or electrical faults, nor issues with controls or gauges. The owner mentions some gearbox whine, but this is a common issue, and the car is reported to shift extremely well. It has also been inspected by Supra specialists who found no mechanical issue.
  • The most recent roadworthiness test was carried out 12 months ago and the car passed with no warnings or advisories presented.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • 4.Mance Automotive serviced the car at 106,000 kilometres on the 12th of December, 2020. They performed a major service, including water pump, timing belt and harmonic balancer.
  • The two prior services were regular minor services including oil changes.
  • The timing belt was replaced during the major service in December, 2020 at 106,000 kilometers. Other work in recent years includes a gearbox oil change.

SUMMARY
