This Mercedes-Benz E200T Estate is a smartly presented modern classic estate car, which is presented in a superb factory colour, and is understood to have genuine low mileage. It is powered by a 2.0-litre 16-valve inline-four petrol engine, producing around 134bhp, coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. The odometer indicates just 55,506 miles.

First registered on 30 April 1996, there are just three previous registered keepers noted on the online history check, and the current owner has had the car for two years.

Its bodywork and paint are reported to be in excellent condition, and the photo gallery below certainly shows a very well-presented car. There appears to be a small soft dent and paint bubbling above the ‘E200’ badging on the tailgate, as well as some minor marks on the rear bumper. However, overall this Mercedes-Benz presents in remarkably good order for its age, and has evidently been well cared-for.

Turning to the interior, the patterned beige cloth seat facings are in superb condition, commensurate with the indicated low mileage. There are one or two very minor marks on the trim, but like the exterior, it remains in wonderful ‘time warp’ condition. The car was also specified with the optional extra rear seats under the boot floor, which means it can be used as an occasional seven-seater when required.

Factory-fitted equipment includes electric windows, an electric sunroof, dual-zone air-conditioning, and it even has a period-perfect Blaupunkt Milano radio and cassette deck. The luggage area is also in great shape, and the roller tonneau cover is present. There are no warning lights on the dashboard, and no known faults with any of the electrics.

The seller states that the car has just been serviced, and that is in excellent running order. Prior to his ownership, he notes that recent maintenance visits were at a Mercedes-Benz main dealer. There are no known faults or mechanical issues.

Its most recent MOT test was carried out on 6 July 2020 at 55,482 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories or alerts. The wheels are fitted with 195/65 R15 Michelin tyres.

Accompanying the car are the original books, and the seller also states that various maintenance paperwork and invoices are also present. There is also a full-size spare wheel and tool roll.

This Mercedes-Benz E200 T Estate is a handsome and practical family car, which would make a refreshing alternative to a contemporary model as a daily driver. Given the W124’s reputation for impressive build quality and robust mechanicals, it would likely prove to be a reliable and enjoyable modern classic to use on a regular basis. However, this car’s condition and low mileage will undoubtedly make it appealing for collectors as well.

All UK-registered cars and motorbikes on Collecting Cars are run through an online HPI check. This vehicle shows no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and has no finance owing.
