This Ferrari F355 Spider is a superb example of the iconic 1990s open-top supercar, with very low mileage and presented in a lesser-seen factory colour. Under the engine lid is the high-revving 375bhp 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V8, coupled to the desirable six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 13,035 miles from new.
Specified from the factory in Giallo Modena, the car’s interior is trimmed with Nero Connolly leather, with a black fabric soft top and tonneau cover. The car is understood to remain entirely original and unmodified, even down to the factory exhaust system.
An original UK market car, this F355 was first registered in August 1996, and has five previous keepers on the V5C. It was acquired by The Brunt Collection three years ago.
The beautifully sculpted lines of the F355 remain one of the most recognisable and popular shapes from the 1990s, and this car’s bodywork is in excellent order, with no known prior damage to any panels. Indeed, its Giallo Modena paintwork is thought to be original, and has a smooth and even finish around the car. All of the body trims are present and correct, and the pop-up headlights work as they should. It rides on the original 18-inch five-spoke magnesium alloy wheels, which have almost certainly been refurbished in the past given their impressive condition.
Inside, the black Connolly leather upholstery is original and presents very well for its age. The leather has a smart patina, with minor creases, and some more typical wear on both seats’ outer bolsters - though this could be easily improved with a re-connolising treatment. Its steering wheel and gear shifter are original, and all of the switches and knobs appear to have none of the common sticky residue that can afflict many Ferraris of this era. It is equipped with an Alpine radio cassette head unit, and the original small tool kit and gloves are stored safely next to the handbrake.
Its last scheduled maintenance was a cambelt replacement service at a Ferrari main dealer in 2018 at 12,230 miles. However, while it has been part of The Brunt Collection, it has also received annual oil changes and maintenance as required. Further service history will be supplied during the auction, but an initial summary is included below.
Its last MOT test was on 22 March 2021 at 13,055 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no defects or advisories whatsoever. All four wheels are shod in Bridgestone Potenza tyres, which are date-coded to 2014 and remain in great shape with plenty of tread.
Accompanying the car are the original Ferrari handbooks, plus the stamped service record, and a good history file with numerous invoices for servicing, parts and maintenance. The original tool kit is also present, missing only one or two small items.
This Ferrari F355 Spider is a true modern classic, and remains a thrilling driver’s car more than 20 years after its launch. Offering one of the seminal analogue Ferrari driving experiences, accompanied by the soundtrack of a howling naturally aspirated V8, this particular car also boasts a vibrant factory colour and very low mileage.
