1996 FERRARI F355 GTS - MANUAL

This Ferrari F355 GTS is an outstanding example of one of Maranello’s most characterful supercars, presented in the ever-popular factory hue of Rosso Corsa and in excellent condition throughout. Its 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 produces 375bhp, and is coupled to a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. The odometer displays just 37,140 miles from new.

First registered on 18 April 1996, this original UK-market F355 was sold new by dealer Reg Vardy, and has just five previous keepers on the V5C. It has evidently been well maintained throughout its life, as the summary below illustrates. The seller has enjoyed the car for the last five years. The car is currently located in Northern Ireland, and remains registered in the UK on its age-related mark of N545 JLY.

Today, this modern classic Ferrari presents in genuinely superb order, with impressive shut lines and no evidence of any prior accident damage. The Rosso Corsa paintwork is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition, and has a bright and glossy appearance around the entire car. The light lenses and rubber door seals are also in great shape, and the badges are unmarked. It rides on the correct set of 18-inch magnesium alloy wheels, which are pristine.

In the cabin, this F355 is fitted with the rare optional carbon-fibre race seats, which are clad in black leather with red Alcantara centres. Both seats present very well, with only some minor creasing to their surfaces in line with the car’s age, but no scuffs or tears to speak of. The car was also specified with the carbon-fibre door sill covers. Ahead, the black leather-wrapped steering wheel and dashboard are also in impressive condition, while the eye-catching red carpet complements the body colour.

The gated manual gear shifter is in superb order, and the interior plastics are pleasingly free of the ‘stickiness’ which sometimes afflicts Ferraris of this era. The car is fitted with a Pioneer radio/cassette player, which also controls the CD changer mounted in the front storage compartment. All of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items work as they should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

The car’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in June 2020 at 37,033 miles by Ferrari dealer Charles Hurst in Northern Ireland. An annual service, this also included replacement of the cam belts, as well as a visual health check. During the seller’s ownership, this F355 has required little additional maintenance, save for the replacement of its battery, and new inner CV boots for the driveshafts.

Prior to this, another cam belt replacement service was performed in November 2015 at 36,646 miles. A full summary of the service history is included below. Some notable previous work includes fitment of new catalytic converters, a sports exhaust silencer, and lambda sensors in February 2006, and replacement of the exhaust manifold in July 2007, all carried out at Ferrari specialist Foskers in Kent.

Its last roadworthiness test was conducted in Northern Ireland on 23 March 2021 at 37,138 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. All four wheels are fitted with Bridgestone Expedia S-01 tyres, which are in good condition and have 3-4mm of tread remaining.

The car will be supplied with its full original book pack including its stamped service book, as well as numerous invoices for past maintenance, old MOT certificates, and its correct tool kit. A Ferrari-branded car cover – as seen in the photo gallery – is also included.

This Ferrari F355 GTS is a remarkable example of the coveted 1990s supercar, presented in excellent condition and equipped with the sought-after manual gearbox and desirable carbon-fibre options.
