1996 DUCATI 916 SENNA II

KEY FACTS

• Introduced at the 1994 Bologna Motor Show, three Senna editions were released between 1995 and 2001, with all proceeds going to the Instituto Ayrton Senna charity.
• It is equipped with the 916cc fuel-injected V-twin engine, coupled with a six-speed transmission.
• Maintained by Ducati until 2006, though has gone unused since, remaining in a heated office as a display piece since 2011.
• First registered overseas, it was imported and re-registered in the UK.

EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS

• The 916 Senna combined the standard Strada specification engine with the Öhlins rear suspension and Brembo front brake discs from the 916 SP.
• Just 300 examples were built of the Senna II model, of which this is number 105, and it is finished in Grigio Argento.

CONDITION

• No known bodywork damage.
• Original silver paintwork and Senna livery in excellent condition, with a few light stone chips on the leading edge of the body behind the front wheel.
• Some very light discolouration to the right-hand ‘Off’ switch, though both handlebar grips and the surrounding dials are in very good order.
• No reported mechanical or electrical faults, though it will require a cambelt change and service before being used on the road again.
• The most recent MOT test was on 1 November 2006 at 10,560 km, which was a first-time pass with no advisories or defects

This Ducati 916 Senna II is a very well-preserved example of a renowned collectible sports bike, built as part of a collaboration with and celebration of Ayrton Senna. The 916 is often regarded as one of the most beautiful and influential sports bikes, and this example would make a special companion for weekend rides, or a fine addition to any collection.
