1995 PORSCHE 911 (993) GT2 EVOCATION

This Porsche 911 Carrera 2 is an eye-catching tribute to the 993-generation GT2, with a range of remedial works and upgrades already completed. Under the rear engine lid lies a 3.6-litre flat-six producing approximately 285bhp and 250lb-ft of torque, allied to a six-speed manual gearbox. The odometer reads 115,587 miles from new.

A UK-market example, this 911 was originally registered by Porsche Centre East London on 21 December 1995. In 2003, this Porsche was subject of incident that led it to be categorised as a Category D (now Category N) insurance loss, denoting non-structural damage. In more recent years, it has been given a mechanical and cosmetic transformation, and the vendor has owned this 911 for the past two years.

The vendor estimates that over £30,000 has been spent on its GT2-inspired bodywork, with the correct gaskets used to achieve the perfect wide-arched stance with no rubbing or alignment issues. Finished in Gentian Blue Metallic, this example has benefited from a comprehensive glass-out respray. Some very minor stone chips are visible on the bonnet, front wings, low chin spoiler and front bumper, and a small chip is also visible on the rear quarter. However, a recent two-stage paint correction means the paint is free from surface scratches and swirl marks, and with the exception of the chips, the paintwork is described as in near-perfect condition.

As part of its cosmetic transformation, this car’s rear wiper has also been deleted to pay homage to the GT2; however, the original wiper and fully working motor are included in the sale. Likewise, the front boot carpet has been removed per a genuine GT2, though the original carpet is in excellent condition and will come with the car. Wearing 19-inch Rial Daytona split-rim alloy wheels, these remain in good condition with no kerbing damage to the rims.

Inside, the Porsche exudes a motorsport vibe, with the original steering wheel replaced with an OMP deep-dish, quick-release item upholstered in suede. Both this and the gear knob show minor signs of wear. The electrically operated hard-shell front sport seats are free of notable damage, but show creasing and modest wear in line with their age. The dashboard, GT2-inspired door cards, and centre console have also been retrimmed in Porsche-approved Alcantara. New steel pedals have also been fitted, along with new interior carpets, and the leather headlining is in perfect condition. The vendor states that there are no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard.

The most recent service was carried out at 115,229 miles by Porsche Centre East London, with over £2,000 spent on this 993. A major service was carried out, with the brake fluid, clutch fluid, and gearbox oil replaced along with the engine oil and filter. In addition, all spark plugs were replaced, while a comprehensive health check was carried out as evidenced in the gallery. New genuine OEM side indicators and bulbs were also supplied and fitted by Porsche.

The air-conditioning system has just been overhauled and blows ice cold, and the heater system is working perfectly too. Its electric tilt-and-slide sunroof is also in excellent order with no leaks. The headlights have been fully refurbished, and fitted with xenon projector and main beam lenses. Both of the wing mirrors have had a full overhaul with new motors, new mirror glass, and a new interior switch. It has also had a new wiper mechanism and a fresh set of OEM Bosch wiper blades supplied and fitted by Porsche, and everything on the car is reported to work as it should.

As regards mechanical upgrades, this 911 features Quantum Two Zero adjustable coil-overs, with a comprehensive suspension refresh including new front suspension bushes, ball joints, drop links, and steering track rod ends.

The vendor adds that the original service book is missing, but that Porsche Centre East London has compiled a replacement referencing only the services carried out by official Porsche centres.

The most recent MOT test was on 17 March 2021 at 115,578 miles. This was a first-time pass with zero advisories. Shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres all round, these all have approximately 6mm of tread remaining. The car is fitted with a professionally fitted remote alarm and immobiliser system with two fobs; one standard item and one LCD backlit display fob.

This 993-generation Porsche 911 GT2 Evocation is an attention-grabbing homage to an iconic contemporary sports car. Offering a host of upgrades allied to the sparkling chassis of the last air-cooled 911 model, this custom Porsche will be sure to put a smile on the face of its next owner, whether used on road or track.
