1995 NISSAN SKYLINE (R33) GTS-T

This 1995 Nissan Skyline GTS-T is a smart example of the Japanese performance coupe, benefitting from subtle upgrades, and which is ready to drive and enjoy. Under the bonnet sits a turbocharged 2.5-litre straight-six engine, producing around 340bhp, coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.

First registered in its home market in 1995, this Skyline was imported to the UK and re-registered with the DVLA in 2008. While the exterior appearance is virtually all standard, it has been fitted with some high-performance modifications under the skin. Having been in the vendor’s collection for two years, it is now offered for sale to a new enthusiast owner.

The odometer currently indicates 119,316, which is believed to be a mix of kilometres and miles. The reading upon import in 2008 was 64,606 km (40,144 miles), and it is believed to now be recording in miles, which would mean 54,710 miles over the last 12 years – or 94,854 miles in total.

The vehicle now features a three-inch turbo-back exhaust system, which the vendor notes makes a fantastic sound without being excessive. It has also been remapped and degassed. This GTS-T also boasts an uprated fuel pump, BC Racing coilovers, SuperPro bushes, and Whiteline Performance sway bars. There is also an R32 GTR clutch and flywheel, braided brake hoses, a front mount intercooler, chrome hard pipes and an Apexi air intake for improved performance and reliability. A Cat 1 alarm system is also fitted for peace of mind.

The bodywork of this GTS-T is reported to be in good order, with no known prior damage. In 2019, the inner and outer sills and rear sub-frame mounts were replaced with new steel, while the floor pans were reinforced and given a Waxoyl rust protection treatment. The deep red finish presents in good condition having had a full respray in 2010, though the vendor has noted one small patch of bubbling on the boot lid. There are also some stone chips around the finish from road use since the respray. The vehicle rides on 18-inch Inovit five-arm twin-spoke alloy wheels, which present with some kerb damage and bubbling of the lacquer, and which would benefit from refurbishment to match the condition of the bodywork and paint.

Moving inside, the car features a three-spoke Project Feint steering wheel and an aftermarket gear shifter, while a modern Pioneer touch screen infotainment system has been installed on the centre console. The grey fabric upholstery presents very well, with some wear to the bolsters commensurate with the car’s age. The dashboard appears with some very minor scratches, though the vendor reports that everything works as it should, with no known electrical issues and no warning lights present on the dashboard.

The last service was undertaken in June 2020, where the vehicle’s engine oil and filter were replaced. Prior to this, in March 2019, the vehicle was given new brake discs and pads all round, while in February 2019 it was fitted with a new Bosch battery.

In June 2018, the engine oil, filters and brake fluid were replaced, before new brake pipes were fitted and the rear wiper motor was repaired. The vendor reports the timing belt and water pump were last replaced in September 2017 at an indicated 114,900 on the odometer. A dynamometer test in 2014 reported an uprated output of 340bhp at 6,000rpm from the 2.5-litre turbocharged straight-six.

The most recent MOT test was on 25 June 2020 at 118,759 km, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The vehicle is fitted with Continental SportContact and PremiumContact tyres, which the vendor reports were fitted in May 2019 and remain in good condition.

Accompanying this GTS-T are an original Japanese owner’s manual, service log and export certificate. Also present are an English-language handbook and a file of paperwork dating back to 2008 when the car was imported.

This Nissan Skyline GTS-T is a sound example from the R33 generation, presented in strong mechanical condition and with a number of discerning upgrades. It would make a fun addition to any collection of JDM modern classics, and also represents a tempting introduction to the Skyline nameplate for an enthusiast who has yet to experience one.
