1995 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 CONVERTIBLE

This 1995 Land Rover Defender 90 is a very clean example of the classic off-roader, enhanced by a full Bespoke Defenders build including a tan leather interior, five-spoke wheels, Mohair convertible roof, suspension package, sump guard and branding. Its 2.5-litre 300TDI turbodiesel inline-four engine produces 111bhp and is twinned with a five-speed manual gearbox. The odometer currently indicates 148,065 miles from new.

This Defender was first registered in August 1995 and has had 3+ keepers from new. The vehicle has been in the current owner’s possession for two years, who notes the vehicle has previously been featured in Land Rover Owner magazine. 

To the best of the vendor’s knowledge, the vehicle has never sustained any bodywork damage, and the Coniston Green paintwork remains in good condition thanks to a respray two years ago, prior to the vendor’s ownership. This Defender features bespoke 18-inch five-spoke wheels and a Mohair convertible roof, which still appears neat and tidy with no evidence of discolouration or water damage.

Inside, the vehicle boasts a full bespoke interior build, complete with diamond stitch tan leather to the seats, dashboard and door linings. The interior remains in excellent condition, with the owner noting it also included soundproofing measures and a heated windscreen. The vendor has noted no faults with any interior controls or electrics, and no warning lights present on the dashboard. 

The most recent service was undertaken in September 2020 by Bespoke Defenders at 148,065 miles, where the technicians changed the engine oil and filters, as well as giving the vehicle a thorough general checkover. Similar services took place in August 2018 and 2019, while a new belt was fitted in August 2017. The owner notes the vehicle has undergone lots of work since they acquired it four years ago, namely a new chassis crossmember, clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, ball joints and rear brake calipers. The transfer box underwent a full rebuild with an upgraded cross pin, while the suspension has been fitted with new poly bushes, springs, spring plates, turrets and upgraded Bilstein shock absorbers with an extra two inches of lift. The 300TDI engine has also received a full size intercooler and adjustable wastegate actuator to run one bar of boost at the manifold, which the vendor notes has allowed the engine to pull more effectively. 

The last MOT test was on 15 September 2020, which resulted in a clean pass. The vehicle initially failed a test on the 14 September 2020, due to the service and parking brakes both reading below 50% efficiency, and with advisories to monitor excessive corrosion on all brake pipes and worn bushes on both rear shock absorbers. However, the vendor notes the issues were rectified immediately. The driver also reports the BF Goodrich all terrain tyres are new on all four corners. 

Accompanying the vehicle is a partial service history, along with corresponding receipts for the maintenance recorded.
