- The Ducati 916 Senna was a limited edition based on the hugely successful 916 series and co-developed by Formula 1 World Champion, Ayrton Senna, who was an avid Ducati enthusiast and close friend of the family owners of the marque.
- Aytron Senna never got to see the release of the bike due to his tragic death in 1994, but all net proceeds were donated to the Instituto Ayrton Senna charity.
- The bike is presented in Senna Grey with a black seat pad, and the unique ‘Senna’ logo across the fairings.
- Its wheels were resprayed three years ago to the correct Ducati OEM paint code as part of refurbishment.
- The specification includes an added carbon-fibre subframe, chain guard, clutch cover, front guard, exhaust pipe insulation panel and mudguard.
- The Ducati 916 Senna also came with Öhlins rear suspension and Brembo front disc brakes from the Ducati 916 SP.
- The bike comes with the service history, import paperwork and spare keys.
CONDITION
- There is no known bodywork or frame damage on the bike.
- The bike’s paintwork is reported to be in generally excellent condition overall.
- There is a small blemish on the seat pad.
- There are no known mechanical or electrical faults with the bike.
SERVICE HISTORY
- The most recent maintenance was carried out during January 2021 by Gasoline Motor Company, which included new timing belts, oil filter, fuel filter, hoses and fuel lines, new brake rotors, tyres, flushed brake fluid and the fuel tank cleaned and a ceramic lining applied to the inner tank.
- During its two years of ownership the Ducati received monthly detailing.
SUMMARY
This Ducati 916 Senna is an excellent example of the rare special edition Italian superbike. It has been ridden as intended but has been well maintained and is in impressive cosmetic and mechanical order. It would make a great addition to any collection of two-wheeled machines.
