• The car had an AutoWatch 160RLi/T security system professionally installed in 2004.
• Largely maintained using OEM parts, the car has also been fitted with some quality parts from the aftermarket, including Brembo vented brake discs, Pagid brake pads and replacement Koni dampers.

CONDITION

• There is no known body damage.
• The paint is in generally excellent condition for its age, and is well documented in the photo gallery below.
• Its retractable rear spoiler works correctly as does the electric sunroof.
• All four original Speedline alloy wheels are in great shape, with only a few minor marks and nicks, and they include the original Speedline centre caps.
• Inside, the original interior has stood the test of time well. There is some minor wear noted to some of the switch gear and driver’s seat bolster, and the cushioning has worn down in places, but the rest of the interior is in very good order, including the headlining.
• There are no known mechanical issues and no electrical faults reported.
• The most recent MOT test was completed on 22 October 2020 at 96,241 miles and resulted in a clean first-time pass with no advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The most recent maintenance work has been carried out by the current owner and includes a brake fluid change and fuel filter change in 2020 and an oil and filter change in January 2021.
• When the car has required more specialist work during the current owner’s tenure it has only been entrusted to marque specialists Awesome GTI or Stealth Racing.

Maintenance (current ownership):

• Sep 2006 - Marque specialist Awesome GTI - Original VW heater control replaced, Wynns cooling system flush.
• Jul 2007 - Complete rebuild of the coolant system, including thermostat housing and seals along with new expansion tank and temperature fan switch.
• Jul 2008 - Marque specialist Stealth Racing - Front suspension top mounts replaced, rear axle bushes replaced, rear brake bias valve overhauled, rear suspension bump stops replaced, and four-wheel alignment carried out.
• Jan 2008 - Clutch slave cylinder replaced.
• May 2010 - All ignition leads replaced with OEM parts.
• Jan 2010 - Bosch fuel pump replaced along with level sender and idle speed adjusted to correct rpm of 740.
• Aug 2010 - Rear wheel bearings replaced.
• Jul 2011 - All hard brake lines and flexible hoses replaced.
• September 2011 - Front brake callipers all refurbished by Bigg Red callipers.
• Jul 2019 - New bonnet cable and ‘trumpets’ fitted.
