EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• The cabin’s original features include a two-speed fan, manual windows, heated rear windscreen with rear wiper, and fresh-air vents positioned below the front windscreen.

• Externally, the car also features the rear pull-down access step and ‘Britpart’ mud flaps.

• There are no modifications fitted to the vehicle, and it is in entirely original condition.

• The service book and owner’s manual accompany the sale, as well as the spare wheel mounted on the rear door and the original toolkit.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage.

• The car’s condition reflects its very low mileage, presenting very well for its age with the headlight surrounds, bumpers and grille also in good order. The original paintwork is in very good condition, with a small paint bubble on the left-hand side of the roof. There is some minor oxidisation to some of the hinges and fittings around the vehicle, as is common with this model.

• The original interior looks smart, with only modest signs of use, including some minor marks and nicks in the front passenger seat and headrest, and some screw holes on the dashboard. There is a small hole in a dashboard trim piece, between the rear window wiper control and cigarette lighter, but this is a separately removable part that could easily be replaced.

• There are no reported electrical faults. The owner states that one of the engine belts is sometimes noisy upon start-up, but that this goes away upon driving.

• The last MOT test was in July 2021 at 10,698 miles, when the car passed on its second attempt after an indicator bulb was replaced. The only advisory was that the front hub seals were leaking.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The history shows a service in February 1995 at 6,000 miles, and prior to this, a service in October 1994 at 1,000 miles which included an oil and filter change.

SUMMARY

This is an exceptionally original and low-mileage example of the classic British off-roader. Free of any modifications or alterations, it is an unusual sight on today’s roads and would be an interesting addition to a collection of iconic vehicles. Alternatively, it would make for a faithful companion for on and off-road adventures alike, and a trusty and reliable workhorse.
