1992 RANGE ROVER CLASSIC 3.9 VOGUE SE

This 1992 Range Rover Classic 3.9 Vogue SE is a very smart example of the stylish SUV, in excellent condition following a comprehensive mechanical overhaul and cosmetic restoration. Under the bonnet sits the 3.9-litre Rover V8 engine producing around 182bhp, coupled with the automatic transmission. The odometer currently shows 156,479 miles from new, but its impressive refurbished condition belies that figure.

First registered in January 1992, this Range Rover Classic has been with its current keeper for the last year. As well as a full respray in Westminster Grey, the car also received a full underside overhaul, including the fitment of new brake callipers, discs, pads, lines, wheel bearings, shock absorbers, springs and bushes all round, alongside new mountings, a new steering damper, a Bosch battery and a new stainless exhaust with all stainless steel fittings.

To the best of the vendor’s knowledge, the bodywork of this Range Rover has never sustained any serious damage, presenting with flush shut lines and smooth panels. During the restoration process, the car was resprayed in its original colour of Westminster Grey, which is now in superb condition. This Range Rover also rides on a set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, which were fully refurbished, and are now pristine on all four corners.

Moving inside, the grey leather upholstery is original and is described as being in good condition, with just some light age-related wear to the bolsters. The vendor notes the headlining has been replaced to rectify some slight sagging, though there are wonderful original features throughout, including the factory head unit. All of the cabin’s electrics are reported to work as they should, and there are no warning lights present on the dashboard.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in October 2020 at 156,422 miles, where technicians at Knowl Hill Land Rover in Berkshire carried out a comprehensive overhaul, including the fitment of new engine gaskets, fluids, filters and a new steering box. During the restoration, its chassis was also stripped down and completely undersealed – as shown in the photo gallery.

The most recent MOT test was on 13 July 2020 at 156,333 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. Its wheels are fitted with a set of Nexen tyres, which the vendor reports are all as-new.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original sales invoice, two service books (as the first was full), and a raft of old MOT certificates and maintenance invoices.

This Range Rover Classic 3.9 Vogue SE is a clean example of the breed, presented with fresh Westminster Grey paintwork and in superb mechanical condition. Beyond its evidently impressive restoration, this Range Rover also boasts a substantial history file, and as such is both a well-presented and well-documented car that would be a credit to any collection. It needs nothing to enjoy on the road immediately, and is also ready for off-road adventures.
