1992 HONDA NSX

This 1992 Honda NSX has evidently been fastidiously cared for and presents in ‘time warp’ original condition, finished in the model’s iconic Formula Red hue. Under the engine lid rests a 3.0-litre naturally aspirated V6 motor mated to a factory five-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 92,516 km.

First registered in 1992 in Japan, the car has more recently made its way to Australia, where it has been with its current owner for one year. It has been maintained to a superb standard, and will be sold with the full set of log books and manuals, as well as the factory tools maintained in their beautifully designed compartment.

The Formula Red paintwork is believed to be the original factory finish, and is in remarkably good condition throughout, having been professionally detailed and ceramic coated to provide a stated three years of protection. The only clue to its mileage is some very minor stone chipping on the bonnet. The panel fit and condition around the car is excellent. All of the trims, seals, and also the pop-up headlights are in great shape. It rides on a set of 17-inch Tecnomagnesio alloy wheels that are in superb order.

The factory tan leather interior is also in exceptional condition for its age, with minimal signs of wear on the seats, and only some very slight bunching at the trailing edge of the door card trims. The rest of the interior trim is in excellent condition, including the centre console, dashboard, controls, and the roof lining. A custom Momo steering wheel and Type S gear shifter have been installed. The owner states that the factory radio lights up, there is no sound from the speakers. Otherwise, there are no known electrical faults.

The NSX was serviced in October 2020, at 92,100 km. At this time the engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs and air filter were changed. Previously, at 87,941 km, a general service was performed which included changing the oils and replacing the belts.

Additional to the above service work, the current owner has rebuilt the climate control unit and replaced the trunk struts, sun visors and centre air conditioning vent with brand new OEM parts.

While the car remains highly original, it does feature a KSP exhaust plus an NA-2 model front lip and the aforementioned Momo steering wheel and gear shifter. The factory alloy wheels, front lip and factory steering wheel will all be included in the sale, along with the log books, manuals and the factory tool kit.

The car passed its roadworthy inspection in October 2020 with no warnings or advisories. All of the Yokohama Advan tyres are around two years old and have an estimated 90% of their tread remaining.
