1991 BMW K75 - CUSTOM CAFE RACER

KEY FACTS

• A fantastic customised BMW K75, which has been modified with classic café racer styling in mind.
• It is powered by a 75hp 750cc straight-three, coupled to a five-speed transmission.
• Many such bikes have been converted to a café racer style with pretend ‘lookalike’ carburettor air flow systems, but this bike has genuine working triple carburettors.
• The bike was serviced in March 2021, prior to its rebuild in April.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Based on a standard K75, which had been left unused for some time, this bespoke bike was built up at The Old Boys Motorcycle Workshop using a GSXR 1000 K6 front end.
• The bike was completely stripped down to the frame, and then restored from the ground up with a redesigned frame, front forks and rear suspension setup.
• The GSXR front end was installed using a custom stem, billet clip-on bars and CNC levers. Its rear suspension was swapped out for a billet linkage from Cafe4racer.
• Its Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection system was removed, and the bike was converted to run genuine triple Mikuni Slingshot carburettors with bespoke manifolds.
• The totally bespoke hand-built 3 to 1 to 3 stainless steel exhaust system offers a nod to a modern race configuration, and gives the bike a sound all of its own.
• Its V5 will be included, along with various manuals and two key fobs.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork or frame damage.
• Its resprayed purple finish is in exceptional condition, with a very high level of finish.
• A few small marks can be seen on the three-spoke wheels.
• Its diamond-stitched black seat has just a few light creases, and all of the controls are believed to work as they should.
• The most recent MOT test was on 9 April 2021 at an indicated 22 miles, which was a pass with two advisories, drawing attention to the rear suspension modification as well as a noisy exhaust.
• A full service was performed in March 2021, prior to its café racer-style rebuild in April.
