1990 PORSCHE 911 REIMAGINED BY SINGER

KEY FACTS

  • A stunning bespoke performance car in an eye-catching colour scheme; this was Singer’s eighth build.
  • It is powered by a 3.8-litre Cosworth-built flat-six, producing around 370hp, coupled to a slick six-speed manual transmission.
  • Based on a 1990 964 coupe, the creation of the car in its current form took place between 2012 and 2013, and it was commissioned by the vendor. Delivered in New York, it now resides with the same owner in Sweden and is an EU taxes-paid and EU-registered car.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

The process of creating a 911 Reimagined by Singer starts with a solid, accident-free Porsche 964 donor with a straight chassis. The car is stripped down to the monocoque, which is media-blasted and strengthened, and is then built back up using carbon-fibre body panels, and refinished to a unique specification.

  • Commissioned in 2012 by the vendor, this 911 was specified with the optional carbon-fibre roof (as well as the standard carbon-fibre body elements), and the chosen colour scheme was Linden Green for the bodywork with Purple Alcantara suede and woven leather for the interior.
  • Other options include the Öhlins suspension package, Singer Edition carbon-fibre track seats, an integrated roll bar, harness bar, and Schroth four-point harnesses. It also has full suede trim to include the floors, sills, and rear seat area, accented by brass seat grommets.
  • It has interchangeable alloy wheel centre ‘petals’, with more traditional grey and black, or vibrant purple (as shown in the gallery).
  • The car comes with fantastic documentation, including all of the original build paperwork, the stamped service book, and all maintenance receipts covering the last seven years (totalling 275,652 SEK, or roughly €27,000). The original Singer manual is included, as well as the ‘One More Than 10’ book in its tailor-made case to match the car’s colour scheme, and the custom ‘build book’ pertaining to this particular car.
  • An extra key, tool kit, the original US plates and registration documents, and a copy of Total 911 magazine featuring this 911 are also present.

CONDITION

  • The car remains in superb condition, with no damage to any of the panels.
  • Its Linden Green paintwork is as it left Singer’s shop, having never needed any remedial work since the completion of the build. The stripe decals along the flanks have just been renewed by a Porsche main dealer.
  • The only cosmetic flaw is a small repaired stone chip in the left-hand corner of the windscreen.
  • With low mileage over the last seven years, there are the slightest signs of use on some of the Alcantara trim, but the interior remains in excellent condition throughout, with no damage or unsightly wear. The fit-and-finish is of course outstanding, and a tribute to Singer’s obsession with the finer details.
  • There are no mechanical or electrical faults.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • Last serviced in March 2021 at 14,393km, this was an engine oil and filter service at Porsche Center Kalmar, which also included new brake fluid, repainting of the optional purple wheel centres, and a full detailing session.
  • In January 2020, it received another full service at Porsche Centre Kalmar, and the retractable spoiler mechanical components were also renewed.
  • It has been regularly serviced since leaving Singer’s shop, with further visits in February 2019, February 2018, January 2017, May 2016, April 2015, and November 2014.

SUMMARY

Driving one of the earliest Singers for Evo magazine in 2013, Richard Meaden summarised the Singer’s appeal by stating: “So convincing is the concept and so complete and cohesive the execution that this car oozes the right stuff with the same assurance as any Pagani Zonda or McLaren F1.”

This Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer is a stunning custom performance car with a unique specification, desirable options, and which has been fastidiously maintained since the completion of the commission. A deeply desirable blend of classic styling with modern mechanicals, Singer’s attention to detail is legendary, and this particular car represents an unmissable opportunity to acquire one of these astonishing bespoke 911s.
