1989 RANGE ROVER CLASSIC 3.5 VOGUE SE

This 1989 Range Rover Classic Vogue SE is an original example of the beloved British 4x4, with a crisp Caspian Blue finish and presented in good condition. Under the bonnet sits the 3.5-litre Rover V8 producing around 165bhp, coupled with a four-speed automatic transmission. The odometer currently indicates 65,371 miles from new.

First registered in April 1989, this Range Rover has been in the possession of its current keeper for the last seven years.

The bodywork of this Range Rover presents well, and to the best of the vendor’s knowledge, has never sustained any significant damage. The vendor adds that the panels were stripped and restored before being resprayed and rust-proofed through 2011 and 2012, and they now describe the exterior appearance as “extremely clean and tidy”.

A few light stone chips can be seen around the door edges, though these are commensurate with the road use, and the Caspian Blue paintwork otherwise presents with an even shine. The vehicle rides on a set of 16-inch three-spoke alloy wheels, which are in similarly good condition, with just one or two light surface blemishes.

Moving inside, the seats are trimmed with grey leather, which is described as being in excellent condition for its age, with the exception of some light age-related wear to the base of the driver’s seat. The walnut veneer which accents the dashboard, door cards and centre console retains a glossy appearance, with the contact points and instrument clusters also presenting in good order. The original dashboard controls and switches are believed to be in good working order; however, the vendor notes that the electrics in the front passenger seat are currently inoperative.

The last routine maintenance took place in November 2020 at 65,412 miles, where technicians at Fix Auto Dagenham changed the engine oil and filters, before replacing the battery and consumables. Prior to this, in April 2016 at 61,834 miles, technicians at Grawall Autos in Romford changed the engine oil and filters, before fitting new HT leads, plugs, bulbs and various bushes. In March 2015, at 54,847 miles, technicians from the same garage carried out similar routine servicing. The vendor adds the vehicle was serviced regularly up until 2016, and then put into storage until 2020, when the most recent maintenance was carried out.

The last MOT test was on 12 November 2020 at 65,412 miles, which resulted in a pass with just one advisory to monitor a minor exhaust leak. The wheels are wrapped with a set of Michelin tyres, which are reported to be in great condition, with lots of tread remaining.

Accompanying the vehicle is the original service book, along with an excellent history folder containing photographic evidence of the body restoration, numerous maintenance invoices and an MOT history, which supports the indicated mileage.

This Range Rover Classic Vogue SE is a superb example of the iconic 4x4, presented in impressive cosmetic condition following body refurbishment and a respray.
