KEY FACTS
- A wonderful, late-production example of the iconic modern classic sports car, presented in a timeless factory colour scheme and with very low mileage from new.
- As a US model, it is powered by the 278bhp air-cooled, 3.3-litre turbocharged ‘930/68’ flat-six, driving the rear wheels via the desirable five-speed ‘G50’ manual transmission.
- This example is from the model’s final year of production, and is thought to be one of the last 15 cars built.
- The odometer displays just 30,102 miles, which is fully supported by the car’s CARFAX report.
- A United States-market example, this Turbo is believed to have had only two keepers during its time in its home country.
- It was imported into Germany from the U.S. by the vendor in 2007, and registered as a historic vehicle in 2019, when it was 30 years old.
- The car has benefitted from bi-annual servicing since it arrived in Germany.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- This 911 Turbo was specified with black paintwork, a black convertible hood, and black leather upholstery.
- It rides on the correct set of 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels.
- Factory equipment includes climate control, electrically adjustable seats and a Porsche stereo.
- It has been fitted with a stainless-steel sport exhaust, a larger Andial intercooler and a boost controller.
- The car will be accompanied by a comprehensive Carfax report, along with a German TÜV inspection report, a Porsche system data printout and a tarpaulin cover.
CONDITION
- An accident was reported in 2000, whereby the fuel tank was dented, the horn was cracked and the undercarriage was left with some surface marks. A salvage title was automatically issued, but this has since been revoked.
- The partially resprayed black paintwork is described by the vendor as being in good overall condition, now presenting with just some age-related stone chips on the front end, along with a few scratches to the rear fender and a small chip on top of the driver’s door.
- The Fuchs alloy wheels are in great shape, with only a handful of minor surface scratches on the rear driver’s-side wheel’s ‘petal’ spokes.
- The vendor has reported some wear to the driver’s bolsters and floor mats, but the black interior trim is otherwise in excellent condition.
- The speedometer is not currently functioning, but there are no other known electrical or mechanical faults.
- If the car is to stay in Germany, the seller will take care of a fresh TÜV inspection. The car previously passed the TÜV inspection according to § 23 STVZO in 2019 to get the German historic plates (‘H-Kennzeichen’), but it was not registered then. However, with this document it could be registered with an historic plate by the buyer.
SERVICE HISTORY
- This 930 Turbo’s most recent service was in summer 2019, when technicians changed the engine oil.
- During the current vendor’s ownership the car has benefited from an oil change every two years.
