This Toyota Land Cruiser is a very well-preserved example of the sought-after HJ75 model and features the iconic orange and white colour scheme of the Rural Fire Service in which it served. Under the bonnet is a 4.0-litre straight-six diesel engine, which is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission with selectable high and low-range gearing.

Manufactured in 1988, this Toyota Land Cruiser is a rare find with the odometer indicating just 36,486 km. The excellent bright orange paintwork with white roof highlights the vehicle’s pedigree as part of the Rural Fire Service fleet. The colour combination was not a factory option from Toyota; however, the vehicle was painted in this manner from the factory specifically for the fire department. The color code on the VIN tag reads 000, indicating an unspecified non-standard color.

The exterior of the vehicle presents in very good condition, with the vendor noting only very small stone chips that were repainted over during the truck’s public service. The cab chassis is complemented by a steel tray as specified by the fire service and its requirement to be able to carry large water drums. The remainder of the tray is a drop side arrangement with the rear also folding down to provide excellent access.

Inside, the Land Cruiser has been well-cared for and the beige factory trimmed seats are capable of seating three occupants. There are some minor marks and wear commensurate with the work the vehicle has undertaken. The original cassette player was removed and replaced by the fire service with a UHF device, which was then withdrawn from the vehicle when it ended its service. The owner reports the original radio is now in the vehicle and receives power but there is no sound.

Under the bonnet the 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine is a robust motor, and is reported to be in good mechanical order. It is coupled to the H55F five-speed manual transmission with high range available in two-wheel and four-wheel drive modes, as well as low range four-wheel drive for the times you need to tackle truly rough terrain.

The vehicle was last serviced at Carology of Bondi in December, with the odometer reading 36,300 km. The engine underwent an oil and filter change, and the brake fluid was renewed. The Land Cruiser received a registration inspection on 23 October 2020 resulting in no advisories or warnings being issued. The tyres reportedly have plenty of tread and the vehicle is offered for sale with the original tool kit, owner's manual and detailed import specifications.
