1987 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 3.2 CABRIOLET - G50 GEARBOX

This Australian-delivered 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Cabriolet is a smart open-top modern classic sports car, ready to provide a new custodian with many years of exciting Porsche motoring. A 3.2-litre flat-six engine hangs out over the back wheels, providing the legendary 911 driving experience, while a five-speed manual G50 transmission handles the transmission of power. The odometer shows 176,520 kilometres.

It left the factory in the lesser-seen hue of Summer Yellow, and was delivered into Australia by Hamilton’s of Melbourne and first registered in May 1987. The 911’s been with its current owner for 15 years and during that time has only really needed regular servicing to keep it singing.

The bodywork has reportedly never been damaged and the panels remain straight and fit as they came out of the factory. Paintwork is believed to be entirely original and is in generally excellent condition for its age - there’s barely even any stone chipping to mention. Its Fuchs alloy wheels are in good condition, finished with the correct satin black centre petals and polished rims. The Cabriolet’s soft top roof is also said to be in great condition, showing few if any signs of use.

Inside, the upholstery is in similarly good condition, although the owner notes that the front seats are worn and split in places, so they would benefit from re-trimming. The leather on the interior of the doors looks good, with only mild patina on the driver’s side door handle. Controls and electronics all function as they should, and the car features an aftermarket head unit. The vendor notes that the air-conditioning needs attending to.

The 911 was last serviced in May 2020 at 175,919 km by Techno European Motorsport in Caringbah, New South Wales. This was a minor service including an oil change and general look-over. Similar services were performed in 2016 and 2018 and the owner mentions that the car has always run well, only requiring scheduled servicing during his tenure.

Log books from new as well as the original, unused, tool set and additional paperwork will be included with the car. The car passed its current registration checks with no warnings and sits on new Bridgestone Potenza tyres.
