1987 FIAT X1-9 GRAN FINALE

This Fiat X1-9 is an unmodified example of the Bertone-designed two-seater mid-engined sports car, presented with low mileage and a comprehensive service history. Its 1.5-litre single overhead cam inline-four engine was derived from the Fiat 128 and produces 84bhp. It comes twinned with a five-speed manual transmission, which together can push the X1-9 Gran Finale to a top speed of 112mph. The odometer currently indicates 58,750 miles from new.

First registered in March 1989, this vehicle has been in the vendor's possession for one year. The Gran Finale, a dealer modification of the SE, marks the final generation of Fiat X1-9.

The exterior condition is excellent, and the vendor notes the Rosso paintwork has undergone a respray, resulting in a finish they've described as near-to flawless, with only 2 tiny stone chips on the bonnet. The 13-inch alloy wheels also present superbly well, with no evidence of kerb damage whatsoever. To the best of the vendor's knowledge, the vehicle has never sustained any bodywork damage, and the plastic trim remains free of scuffs.

The blue checker upholstery also presents well and is believed to be entirely original, though the owner reports a small repair has been made to the driver's bolster. The dashboard remains neat and tidy with no evidence of age-related wear to any of the interior plastics or switches. The driver has also reported no faults are present with any controls or electrics.

The most recent service took place in September 2020, where the technicians at Alfacraft in Mortlake carried out an engine oil change, before replacing the filters and cambelt. Prior to this, the vehicle has undergone a history of regular maintenance as per Fiat intervals, carried out by a small selection of reputable garages.

The last MOT test was on 23 April 2020, which resulted in a pass with advisories to monitor the offside parking brake reading low and wear on the inner edge of the offside rear tyre. The vehicle initially failed a test on the same date, due to excessive carbon monoxide emission content. The vehicle sits on Michelin energy saving tyres all round, which the vendor reports remain as new, though they were unable to provide an exact age.

Accompanying the vehicle is the original service book stamped from new, with every corresponding receipt for replacement parts, which include work to the suspension, brakes, electrics and transmission. Included in the owners manual, is the original Pre-Delivery and Delivery Inspection Certificates.

This Fiat-X1/9 Gran Finale marks a rare opportunity to own the final generation of the model, with low mileage, a thorough maintenance history and a finish described as flawless thanks to a recent respray. The vehicle has just received a new cambelt, has been looked after by reputable Fiat experts and now features a superbly presented engine bay and interior.
