1986 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 - SPECTRE EVOCATION

This Land Rover 110 Double Cab has been completely transformed into an incredible Defender ‘Spectre’ Evocation with a raft of custom touches. During its rebuild and conversion in 2020, the car was fitted with a 4.6-litre Rover V8 as found in a P38 Range Rover, as well as an automatic transmission. The odometer shows just 1,333 miles since the build was completed.

First registered in October 1986, this Land Rover 110 has just four previous keepers on the V5C, and it was acquired two years ago by Defender specialist Landroid Motors, in order to create their ‘Spectre’ style demonstrator car.

Fully rebuilt and professionally resprayed in modern Santorini Black, this Double Cab is equipped with a Safety Devices roof rack, external roll cage, high-mounted spotlights, a new front bumper with a Winchmax winch, and side protection runners. The headlights have a modern conversion upgrade, the rear lights are all LEDs, and there is black chequer plate steel around the lower body. Its wheel arches have been significantly extended to cover the huge 35-inch tyres and heavy duty 16-inch wheels. The suspension has been significantly upgraded, to include Old Man Emu shock absorbers, an uprated polybush kit, and uprated radius and trailing arms.

While the genuine ‘Spectre’ cars feature only basic equipment as needed for filming, this Evocation has been treated to a custom and luxurious fit-out in tan leather throughout. It features hexagonal quilted stitching and ‘L’ Landroid monograms in the headrests, as well as bespoke badging. There is a small scuff on the driver’s seat, but otherwise it is in as-new condition following the fresh re-trim. There is also an Alcantara headlining.

A new grained fascia has been fitted to the centre console, while the tan leather also extends across the entire dashboard. Equipment includes a digital level display and compass, a large Sony touchscreen media unit with Bluetooth, DAB digital radio and smartphone connectivity, heated front seats, air-conditioning, and two USB charging ports.

It was given a service at 1,000 miles following the total rebuild by Landroid Motors, and is reported to be in excellent mechanical condition with no known faults. The most recent MOT was on 25 February 2021 with just 1 mile on the odometer following its comprehensive rebuild, unsurprisingly passing at the first attempt and with no advisories. It is accompanied by a rebuild catalogue and photos showing the work being carried out.

This Land Rover 110 Double Cab ‘Spectre’ Evocation is an incredible custom build, which boasts a significant engine and gearbox upgrade and a luxurious re-trim, and which represents a faithful tribute to the famous film cars.
