KEY FACTS

• A stylish and increasingly sought-after Japanese modern classic, benefitting from a prior restoration and presented in highly original condition.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• This CRX is finished in vibrant red paintwork with black plastic cladding on its lower body, while the seats are clad in black and white chequered cloth with black centre sections.
• It is equipped with an electric sunroof and rides on the correct set of 13-inch four-hole alloy wheels.
• This CRX will be supplied with its V5C, as well as numerous invoices for various replacement parts and past maintenance.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage.
• It is thought that the red paintwork was resprayed during the restoration and it presents well, with a few small blemishes, including some minor corrosion on the bootlid and two small cracks on the front passenger-side wing.
• There are also cracks in the black plastic cladding which covers the lower portion of the passenger door, as shown in the gallery.
• Inside, the cabin is very smart indeed, with no major wear, though there is a cigarette burn on the base of the driver’s seat and a small stain on the passenger seat’s black fabric upholstery.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.
• The car’s last MOT test was conducted in Northern Ireland in October 2019 at 64,571 miles, which it passed with no warnings or advisories. Bidders should note that the online record only goes up to March 2013, with the remaining records held on the NI database. The current MOT certificate runs to October 2021.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The seller maintains the cars regularly, and the car is used as a weekend runaround during the summer and is garaged in the winter.
• The CRX’s most recent recorded routine maintenance was carried out in October 2017 at 63,560 miles by AMD Repairs, who changed the engine oil, gearbox oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter, as well as the distributor cap, rotor arm, timing belt, the ignition leads, the ignition coil and the ignition module.
• The car was also serviced in August 2016 at 62,790 miles, when the engine oil, oil filter and fuel filter were changed, along with the rear exhaust silencer.
• There is a significant record of the servicing and maintenance of the car over the years, including the original owner’s manuals and service books.

SUMMARY

With its clean styling, nimble handling and renowned Honda reliability, the first-generation CRX is a highly appealing mid-1980s coupe.
