1984 FERRARI MONDIAL QV

This 1984 Ferrari Mondial QV is a smart example of the marque’s mid-engined V8 2+2 grand tourer, presented with low mileage and in good overall condition. It is equipped with the 240bhp 3.0-litre V8, with four valves per head (hence ‘Quattrovalvole’), coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.

First registered in April 1984, this Mondial has been in the hands of its current keeper for one year. The odometer currently indicates 40,935 km.

The car’s bodywork presents well, and its Argento paintwork is in generally very good condition. The vendor reports a scratch can be seen on the rear boot lid, while a couple of small blemishes are visible on both doors. There is a small patch of flaked paint and subsequent surface rust inside the right rear wheel arch, and a few minor chips around the fuel filler flap. Some small scuffs are visible on the front plastic bumper, but the other exterior trims including the window seals are in very good order.

Inside, the Nero leather is in good condition for its age and remains entirely original, though the vendor has reported a couple of minor imperfections, such as some light wear to the driver’s bolsters and a small split in the stitching on the passenger seat. Some light scratches can be seen on the switchgear and centre console, though the main contact points are in good shape, and all of the electrics are believed to work as they should.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in February 2021 at 40,850 km, where technicians carried out a standard service and check-over. Prior to this, routine maintenance was carried out in 2020 by Giannini Cars in Rome, when the cambelt was also replaced. The wheels are wrapped with Michelin tyres, which the vendor reports have aged, but have around 60% of their tread remaining.

This Ferrari Mondial QV is a good example of the mid-engined sports car, which presents well, and would now benefit from just some minor cosmetic attention in a few places. Flicking through the gears while revving out the naturally aspirated V8 in this Mondial QV delivers a characterful driving experience, and this example would be a great companion for sunny weekends or road trips.
