KEY FACTS
- A highly original, low-mileage example of the 1980s sports car, fresh from a full cambelt service.
- It is powered by a 2.9-litre V8 - with four valves per cylinder, hence the ‘Quattrovalvole’ or ‘QV’ suffix - which produces 240bhp and drives the rear wheels via an engaging five-speed manual transmission.
- The odometer displays only 56,625km (35,185 miles) from new verified by ownership history and other documentation.
- First registered in January 1984, this Italian-market 308 was imported to the UK and re-registered with the DVLA in 2015. It has been owned by the vendor for six years.
- Previously supplied by respected Ferrari dealer Autoluce in Modena.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- Finished in the iconic Ferrari shade of Rosso Corsa over a Nero leather interior, this GTS is equipped with air-conditioning, electric windows and a period-correct Philips radio/cassette player, as well as the removable targa roof panel.
- The car will be accompanied by its correct handbooks, tool roll, jack kit, service records and details of its ownership history, which supports its low mileage.
CONDITION
- There is no known bodywork damage, and the car has been deemed a highly original and solid example by a well-known marque specialist.
- Its Rosso Corsa paintwork is in very good overall condition, as shown in the detailed set of photos below.
- The car rides on the correct set of five-spoke metric alloy wheels, which are lightly marked but are in very good order. The clarity of the casting marks also indicates they have never been restored or repainted.
- Inside, the cabin features all of its original trim and leather upholstery, and as such has an attractive ‘patina’ throughout, with light wear on the seats and touchpoints, but no rips, tears or other damage.
- There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.
- The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 6 May 2021 at 56,407km, resulting in a clean, first-time pass.
SERVICE HISTORY
- This 308’s most recent routine maintenance was a full cambelt replacement service, which was carried out by Ferrari specialist Autofficina in May 2021, when the header tank was also replaced, along with various seals, pipes and gaiters.
- Prior to this, Autofficina overhauled the brakes in September 2020 and carried out a general oil service in February 2020.
- Furthermore, the clutch was replaced in September 2015, when a new battery was also fitted.
