1977 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE 1500

CONDITION

• No known body damage.
• The Cobalt Blue paintwork is in good condition, with the vehicle having been repainted and colour changed in the past.
• Inside, the black and white interior trim is in great shape, and has previously been re-upholstered.
• The soft-top roof is in very good condition with no rips or tears and the accompanying tonneau cover is also in good condition.
• The seller has noted that the left indicator occasionally comes loose but is still in working order.

SERVICE HISTORY

• There is no service history present with this vehicle; however, previous MOT certificates suggest that the mileage may be accurate, and indicates some repair work has been recently carried out including repairs to the headlights and windscreen wipers.
• The rear brakes have been balanced and the driver’s seat has been repaired for the last MOT.
• The most recent MOT test was carried out on 21 August 2021 at 34,880 miles with advisories for a worn prop shaft joint, some wear to the nearside front suspension bush and a minor oil leak.

SUMMARY

This fifth-generation Triumph Spitfire 1500 is a very usable classic British sports car that has evidently received some prior restoration work. There are a few MOT advisories that the next owner could attend to in due course, but overall the car presents very well.
