This Alfa Romeo Alfetta is an outstanding example of the classic Italian sports sedan, which is still in superb condition following a restoration around 20 years ago, and benefits from a recent mechanical overhaul. Under the bonnet is a 1.8-litre twin-cam engine producing up to 120hp, which is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer reads 24,170km, which may be the mileage since the restoration.

Taking its name from the moniker associated with the famous Alfa Romeo 159 Grand Prix car, the Alfetta also features a transaxle layout and De Dion tube rear suspension. The exterior of the Alfa Romeo presents in exceptional condition having undergone a thorough restoration around the millennium. The signature red paintwork is in very good order, as are the various body trims, bumpers, lights and badges. The owner reports that the right-side front section of the body has undergone repairs at some point in the car's life, but it is in great shape today. The 'Vega' wheels are in outstanding condition, and the suspension has been slightly lowered to give the car a more purposeful stance.

Inside, this Alfa Romeo is in similarly noteworthy condition, with the seats, door cards and carpet in excellent order having been fully refurbished or re-trimmed during the vehicle's restoration. The dashboard, trims and instruments are all in very good condition, with everything working as it should – save for the clock. All electricals have been checked and repaired where required, with the air-conditioning re-gassed just two months ago.

The vehicle underwent a major service and mechanical overhaul just 1,000km ago at Corse Automotive. As part of the service, all oils and fluids were replaced, a new water pump, starter and alternator were fitted, and the carburettors were overhauled. The camshafts were changed, timing and valve clearances reset, and new electronic ignition was installed. The driveline was treated to a new clutch, overhauled tailshaft, refurbished rear brake calipers, and a new brake master cylinder.

In addition, the shock absorbers were replaced with Bilstein units, the wheels swapped for the stylish ‘Vega’ items, and new Continental tyres were fitted. It was at this time that the vehicle was subjected to its most recent registration inspection, which it passed with no advisories. Accompanying the car is a spare Alfa Romeo wheel with a good tyre in the well, covered by a neatly trimmed boot lining.

This 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta is an excellent right-hand drive example of the iconic Italian sedan, which benefits from a thorough prior restoration, exceptional maintenance, and which is presented in truly superb condition.
