1975 PORSCHE 911 TURBO (930) COUPE

This 1975 Porsche 911 Turbo (930) coupe is a stunning, fully restored example of one of the marque’s most desirable classics. It is powered by the numbers-matching 3.0-litre turbocharged and air-cooled flat-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 228,876 km.

Manufactured and first registered in 1975, this is an original Australia tourist delivery car, handed over on 14 February 1977 with delivery mileage of 106 km on the clock. It has been in the current owner’s care for five years, during which time it was treated to a comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration to a remarkably high standard.

Not to be confused with later examples of the 930 Turbo, this car is the 85th of just 284 examples of the landmark performance car to be built in the first year of production – and as such it is a highly sought-after model year Porsche among knowledgeable collectors. It is believed to be one of only six such cars delivered new in Australia, and one of only 18 right-hand drive ‘first year’ 911 Turbos.

As you will discover in the many photographs, the 911’s bodywork and Emerald Green Metallic paintwork are in stunning condition, reflecting the recent restoration work. The wing and body trims are in similarly excellent condition, as are the Fuchs alloys with black centre petals and polished rims. In a nod to the car’s 45 years of history, there is some mild patina on the driver’s side wing mirror.

The interior has been re-trimmed and is finished to a very high standard of craftsmanship in Terracotta leather. Carpets, door cards and other trims are in pristine condition. The car was delivered with air-conditioning, which has been retained. All of the main controls and switches appear to be original, and there are no known faults with any electrics.

The 930 has a very good service history, with recent maintenance at Cavaco Motors, when technicians performed a routine oil change. It was serviced two years prior, but since its extensive restoration, it has needed nothing but this regular basic servicing.

The car sits on new tyres and is in superb road-ready condition with no warnings or advisories provided during its last service. It is currently unregistered and its current number plate will not be included in the sale.

Along with the spare wheel, a Porsche tool kit and an air compressor are included. A collection of original documentation, including the original driver’s manual and a number of service records, will also accompany the car.

Boasting an iconic silhouette and exciting performance to match its stylish appearance, Porsche’s 930 Turbo is not only a motoring legend, but a very driveable and easy to enjoy classic.
