1973 PORSCHE 911T - 2.7 CUSTOM

KEY FACTS

• A great custom-built 1970s Porsche 911, with a significant engine upgrade and bespoke lightweight interior.
• Its motor has been changed to a 2.7-litre air-cooled flat-six with Bosch continuous fuel injection (CIS), coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.
• The car is currently located in California, but is registered in Arizona.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• This Porsche left the factory as a 1973 model year 911T with the fuel-injected 2.4-litre engine.
• In more recent years, it has been given a custom makeover, now equipped with a 2.7-litre flat-six with CIS, and a WEVO short-shifter for the 915 gearbox.
• The exterior has been enhanced by the addition of an RS-style front bumper, central twin-exit exhaust, quick-release pins for the front hood, and ‘ghost’ grey side stripe decals.
• There are also 15-inch Fuchs alloy wheels, fitted with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres.
• At the front is an ATL 22-gallon racing fuel cell, plus a battery disconnect cut-off switch.
• The cabin has been given a ‘rear seat delete’, with the rear area fully carpeted and a bolt-in half roll cage installed.
• A pair of classic style bucket seats is fitted, trimmed in black leather and plaid cloth in the Gulf racing colours, and equipped with four-point Repa harnesses. The plaid finish also extends to the door cards, and fabric pull straps.
• Ahead of the driver is a dished three-spoke Momo steering wheel trimmed in Alcantara, and with a yellow 12’o’clock marker.

CONDITION

• There is no known prior bodywork damage.
• Its silver paintwork is in excellent condition, having been fully resprayed as part of the custom build. There is a small chip, approximately 3mm in size on the passenger side, that mainly blends in with the decal.
• The interior trim is also in as-new condition, with no wear or damage to the leather or cloth, and with all of the controls and electrics working correctly.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Seen by Porsche specialist Sublime Silverlake in Los Angeles, this was a full service with various minor adjustments and component overhauls at 46,850 miles, following on from the build.
• It also received a tune-up at Bulletproof Restorations at around 47,000 miles.

SUMMARY

This Porsche 911T 2.7 Custom is a fantastic bespoke build, which has clearly taken some inspiration from the classic ‘sports purpose’ 911s of the 1960s and 1970s, but has been executed using some modern, motorsport-focused components. In fully restored condition with fresh paint and trim, but with substantially upgraded mechanicals, it is a ‘turn key’ air-cooled 911 that is ready to relish on the open road.
