1972 NISSAN SKYLINE 2000 GT-R 'HAKOSUKA'

This 1972 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R ‘Hakosuka’ is a superb example of the Japanese icon, presented in very good condition throughout. Under the bonnet is the 2.0-litre S20 straight-six engine producing around 160bhp and 130lb-ft of torque, which drives the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential. The odometer currently indicates 81,415 km.

A first generation GT-R example, this Skyline rides on semi-trailing arm strut suspension and has a pair of disc brakes at the front, and drum brakes at the rear. First registered in January 1972, this rare coupe has recently been imported to the UK and re-registered. Its most recent private owner acquired the car eight months, and it is now offered for sale by the trade.

The car’s muscular bodywork is in good order, and to the best of the vendor’s knowledge, has never sustained any damage. The condition of the resprayed white paintwork has been described as excellent, featuring neat black-accented wheel arches and presenting with minimal wear throughout. The Skyline and GT-R badging all presents as it should, while the chrome body trims and light lenses retain a smart appearance. The vehicle rides on a set of black 14-inch wheels, which are in excellent condition on all four corners.

Moving inside, the black trim presents with just some light creasing, but remains in remarkably good condition considering the upholstery is believed to be original. The door cards, carpets and headlining are all tidy, while the dashboard features an elegant wood burr inlay. All of the electrics are reported to be in good working order and there are no warning lights present on the dashboard.

The last equivalent to an MOT test was carried out on 24 June 2020, which reportedly resulted in a clean pass. The wheels come wrapped in a set of Michelin Energy tyres, which are five years old but are reported to be like new in terms of tread. The vehicle will also be accompanied by an original handbook.

This Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R ‘Hakosuka’ is an iconic Japanese coupe, which benefits from a comprehensive respray, but has what is believed to be a beautifully preserved original interior.
