• Introduced at the 1961 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Type 3 was available in three body styles: Notchback, Squareback and this, the Fastback. It offered increased passenger and luggage space, while retaining the landmark Beetle engineering principles.
• Still in original condition, the Type 3 features a classic colour scheme, with a white exterior over red upholstery.
• The Type 3 remains unmodified and unrestored, having simply been driven, enjoyed, and well maintained. The owner reports that it runs superbly and sits comfortably cruising at 100km/h.

CONDITION

• There is no known prior bodywork damage.
• The original factory white paint remains in fair condition; there is some surface rust showing on the body and the front bumper where the chrome has been lost. All the badges and trim are present and correct.
• Inside, the interior remains in good to fair condition, with ‘wear and tear’ commensurate with the age of the vehicle. The photo gallery presents an accurate illustration of the condition, and of course it remains eminently usable. All gauges, controls and switches work as they should.
• There are no known mechanical or electrical faults.
• The vehicle was inspected at its most recent service with the owner being issued with no warnings or advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The most recent service was performed in March 2021 by B&J Auto in Rydalmere. A full service was performed with the engine oil, filters and wiper rubbers replaced. The brakes were also serviced.
• Prior to this, a full service was performed in April 2020 by the same mechanic.
• The previous owner had the vehicle regularly serviced by VW specialist Andrew Dodd Automotive for 18 years.

SUMMARY
