1969 CHEVROLET NOVA YENKO SC427 TRIBUTE

This 1969 Chevrolet Nova Yenko SC427 Tribute is a smart homage to the rare tuned high-performance muscle cars that Don Yenko built in the late 60s. Under the bonnet sits a tuned 468ci V8, producing around 500bhp, coupled with a THM400 automatic transmission and a host of uprated mechanical components. The vendor says that it is “a blast to drive and has a killer old school look; if you are looking for a street machine you can rip around and drive classic quarter-mile events, this car falls into both of those categories”.

First registered in July 1969, this Nova Yenko Tribute was imported from Las Vegas by its current keeper three years ago. The car was built by the previous owner to join the popular classic quarter-mile events in the US. Alongside an uprated engine with Brodix cylinder heads and a competition Big Mutha’ Thumpr cam, the car has been enhanced throughout.

The bodywork of this muscle car is all in good shape, and its silver paintwork presents with just some age-related stone chips on the front and rear ends. The car features smart green ‘Yenko/SC’ decals on each side and racing stripes down the middle, along with 454 badging on the front wings. Some light spotting can be seen on the chrome bumpers, though the window surrounds and wing mirrors are in good shape. The car rides on a set of 15-inch wheels, with new historic semi-slick Avon CR6ZZ tyres.

Inside, the black and green fabric upholstery is in good shape, with no visible damage, while the car now features protective rubber floor mats with bold red Chevrolet logos. Ahead of the drive is an original three-spoke steering wheel, and the transmission features a B&M gear shifter. A few minor marks and scuffs are visible around the cabin as you would expect, though all of the electrics are believed to work as they should.

The car has been granted historic German TÜV road acceptance and the last routine maintenance was undertaken in December 2020, where technicians serviced the car and also fitted a new Varta battery.

This Chevrolet Nova Yenko SC427 Tribute is an exciting historic drag-strip competitor and a faithful homage to the extremely rare muscle car, with an uprated 468ci engine and dependable THM400 transmission. Presented in solid mechanical condition, it could make for a characterful weekend cruiser or could continue to be used for straight-line racing.
