1968 FIAT 500F

KEY FACTS

  • A charming example of Fiat’s diminutive 1960s city car, in an attractive colour scheme.
  • Under the engine lid sits a 499cc air-cooled engine, delivering 18bhp to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
  • This highly original Italian classic is currently located in Lucca, Tuscany.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • This is an early-production example of the 500 F with front-hinged doors, identifiable by the eight bolts which secure each door in place, giving it the ‘Otto Bulloni’ nickname.
  • Finished in light blue, the car’s features include a red and cream vinyl interior, a roll-back black vinyl roof, whitewall tyres, and a leather case fitted atop the chrome luggage rack.
  • The interior also features opening front quarterlight windows, a body-coloured dashboard, custom white and red-lined rear parcel shelf and black ribbed vinyl flooring.
  • Included in the sale is the original spare wheel as well as Italian registration document, a handful of brochures, and various maintenance and servicing invoices.

CONDITION

  • There is no known bodywork damage.
  • The resprayed blue paintwork presents well overall, with some small imperfections commensurate with the age of the vehicle. These include some stone chips to the nose of the car, and some hairline cracking to the paintwork near the rain gutters visible only upon close inspection. There is also some pitting to the brightwork, and a small patch of corrosion next to the right-hand side taillight.
  • The red and cream-trimmed vinyl interior is in very good condition, with minimal wear and signs of use. There are no rips or tears visible on the seats.
  • This Fiat 500 is reported to be in excellent working order, with no known mechanical or electrical faults or issues.
  • The last roadworthiness test was last year, and the car passed on its first attempt with no recorded advisories.
  • The car has been serviced regularly in Lucca, and numerous invoices are supplied with the vehicle.
