1968 ALFA ROMEO GT 1300 JUNIOR - FIA PAPERS

This 1968 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior is an excellent racing version of the beloved coupe, upgraded to FIA specifications and with a number of performance modifications. Under the bonnet sits a rebuilt 1.3-litre twin-cam four-cylinder engine, producing around 130bhp, coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.

This Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior has been converted to compete in historic road rallies and was given an FIA Historic Technical Passport in 2005, along with a passport from the Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana. It now features an uprated engine with twin Weber carburettors and free-breathing intake trumpets, while inside, the cabin has been fitted with a roll cage, racing seats, a fire extinguisher and an Alcantara steering wheel. First registered in November 1968, this Alfa has been in the hands of its current keeper for 16 years.

The vendor notes the sills and front floor panels have been repaired, and that the bodywork presents with numerous small dents, scratches and stone chips from its life as an active racer. Nevertheless, the bright yellow paintwork still draws the eye, and it is accented very well by various racing decals. The chrome body trims present well, while the car rides on a set of 15-inch steel wheels, which have a few light blemishes, but are otherwise in good order.

Inside, the Toora buckets seats present with minimal wear, though the vendor reports one of the door panels was left with a small tear during the car's motorsport conversion. The Sparco racing steering is in good shape, while the wooden dashboard trim and metal instrument surrounds are also in good condition. The cabin now features a start button and emergency cut-off switch, along with quick-release fasteners, sports pedals, and a passenger footrest. No electrical faults have been detected.

The vehicle rides on a set of FIA-compliant Toyo tyres, which have around 6mm of tread remaining, and the car will be supplied with two spares.

Accompanying the vehicle are its FIA HTP from 2005 and Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana passport, along with a Certificate of Origin from the Alfa Romeo Museum, and its Italian road registration documents.

This Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior is an exciting, upgraded classic sporting coupe, which has been modified to compete in historic rallies, and was built to meet FIA regulations. A wonderfully characterful racer, this GT 1300 Junior would make an enjoyable rally entrant or a fun track day toy.
