1967 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK - GT500 ELEANOR TRIBUTE

This 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback has been transformed to become a truly outstanding tribute to the hero car from the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’. On opening the bonnet you are greeted by a 347ci stroker V8 producing approximately 450hp, with shifting duties handled by a five-speed Tremec TKO gearbox. The odometer indicates just 1,039km, which is assumed to be the mileage since the conversion was completed.

Originally built as a rare S-Code 390/4v Fastback this vehicle has been faithfully transformed into a replica of the famous 'Eleanor'. Described by the owner as a “no expense spared” build, the car has been completed to an exacting standard, to capture the excitement and custom detailing of the vehicle driven on the big screen by master auto thief Randall ‘Memphis’ Raines. A variety of upgraded contemporary components were added as part of the build to further enhance the driving experience, including the steering, Koni suspension, and brakes.

The exterior presents in superb condition, with correct Pepper Grey metallic paint complemented by black metallic stripes. The brightwork is in wonderful condition with the trims, bumpers and badges sitting flush on the straight and smooth bodywork. Its body kit is a faithful recreation, with the Shelby style front bumper, deep side skirts, side exit exhausts, power bulge bonnet, and the twin spot lamps in the lower grille. The owner reports just two very minor stone chips on the front spoiler, but otherwise the car looks pristine.

The interior of the vehicle is in exceptional condition and was part of the full rebuild of the vehicle, featuring fully reupholstered seats and trim in black leather and vinyl. The factory dashboard is complemented by a large Autometer tachometer, wood-rimmed steering wheel and a non-functional 'Go Baby Go' button atop the shifter knob. The stereo system has also been completely updated with a new head unit, professionally installed Pioneer speakers in the rear, and flush fit Clarion component speakers in the front of the vehicle.

Under the bonnet is a glorious 347ci stroker V8 engine that is equipped with a stout top-end featuring hydraulic rollers and alloy heads. Coupled to the engine is a Tremec TKO manual five-speed gearbox with a Hurst shifter. Moving further rearward the vehicle has been fitted with a nine-inch limited-slip differential housing with a 3.90:1 drive ratio. The owner reports a power output of approximately 450hp.

The vehicle underwent its most recent service at Lakeside Automotive on 25 February 2021 with the odometer reading 1,029 km. At this service the engine oil was replaced with Penrite HPR30, with new oil and air filters also fitted. Lakeside Automotive previously serviced the vehicle on 15 June 2020, fitting new spark plugs and conducting a full dyno tune. The owner reports that the vehicle underwent an inspection in 2020, passing with no advisories – a true testament to the impressive build of this car.

This 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback is a superb replica of the Shelby GT500 ‘Eleanor’ vehicle featured so prominently in the cult classic film. Benefitting from a full bumper to bumper transformation, the Mustang presents incredibly well with correct additions and excellent attention to detail throughout.
