1965 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE

This 1965 Volkswagen Beetle is a beautifully restored example of a beloved classic, with an attractive Java Green finish and a smart interior. It is powered by a 40bhp 1.2-litre flat-four engine, driven through the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with synchromesh. The odometer currently indicates 1,781 km since its restoration.

First registered in 1965, this Beetle has been with its current keeper in Italy for around two years. It has undergone a complete cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment, and now presents in superb condition throughout.

The iconic bodywork of this Beetle is in good shape, and its resprayed Java Green finish is described as being in excellent order. The car has been used sparingly since its restoration, and the paintwork is therefore free of any major blemishes, though one small patch of bubbling due to a reaction can be seen next to the engine lid release. A few minor marks can be seen where the indicator lights meet their rubber seals, but these are only noticeable under very close inspection, and the 15-inch wheels are in great shape.

Inside, the grey cloth upholstery is in excellent condition, with just some very light creasing to the front seats. The grey door card inserts and the headlining both present well, and the Java Green painted dashboard is free of any notable scuffs. The white two-spoke steering wheel presents well, with the exception of a few very faint scratches on the centrepiece.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s manual and service book, alongside various registration and Automobile Club d’Italia documents.

This Volkswagen Beetle is a very smart example of an iconic automobile, which has enjoyed a comprehensive restoration and now presents in wonderful condition. Guaranteed to turn a few heads on sunny weekend adventures, this Beetle would make a fun addition to any collection of classics.
