• The vehicle is lowered and has a narrowed front beam installed, along with a custom throttle linkage and caged foam air cleaners.
• The seller notes that documentation for modifications and services during their ownership are included.

CONDITION

• The seller notes a small body crease over the driver’s side fender near the hood emblem, and additional body panel imperfections as shown in the gallery.
• Its paint is in fair order, and is thought to have been renewed in the 1970s, including a color change from dark ‘Ruby’ red to its current yellow. The paint is flaked in places and has numerous scratches, rock chips, and faded patches, but carries with these flaws with a general ‘patinated’ appearance that is still appealing.
• The original color is visible on the inside of the rear cargo area panels.
• There are signs of age and wear on the interior, including tears in the carpet and some vinyl paneling that has come down and has been re-glued. Some cracks are also noticeable in the original dashboard.
• The seller notes the speedometer and odometer are not operational.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The new engine and transmission was installed by air-cooled specialist shop The Lab in Montclair, CA, in May 2020, with technicians also fitting all new lines and fluids, and bleeding the brakes.
• The narrowed front beam was installed in 2017 by VW specialist Old Speed based in Paramount, CA.
