1964 MORRIS MINI

This 1964 Morris Mini benefits from a full refurbishment completed in early 2021, including a more powerful reconditioned 1275cc engine mated to a rod-change four-speed manual gearbox. The odometer reads 72,949 miles.

Originally built in 1964, the car has been with its current owner for the past year, during which time it was restored to a very high standard. The owner rebuilt the car with his father and this work included installing a 1275cc Morris engine and upgraded tanks. The aesthetics were also refreshed with new paintwork, smartened up chrome and a fresh leather interior.

The metallic burgundy paintwork presents in superb condition. Having seen minimal mileage since completion, there are only minor imperfections, including a small touched-in chip near the driver’s door hinge. Minor retouching was also performed on the firewall where brake fluid had been spilled. Its chromed items, exterior trims and 12-inch wheels are also in excellent order.

Inside, the refurbished interior was completed to an impressive standard, and everything is neat and tidy, with no damage or wear to report. The leather upholstery is all new, as is the Moto-Lita wheel and other elements. The controls and instruments all work as they should.

With the mechanical refresh completed very recently, the car has not required servicing since this point. The Mini passed its registration inspection in February 2021 with no warnings or advisories. All four tyres are new Falken Ziex ZE914 items, which are in great condition.

With restoration work very recently completed, this Morris Mini is described by its owner as being virtually as-new throughout. The glossy paintwork is finished to a high standard, while the refurbished interior offers a level of luxury beyond that of an original and more modestly trimmed car. Attention was paid to the mechanicals as well, with the upgraded 1275cc motor providing extra power and refinement.
