EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• The first generation of the Chevrolet C/K series, in half-ton ‘shortbed’ specification with a 115-inch wheelbase and the ‘Stepside’ body style with sculpted rear fenders.
• It was built at the Norwood, Ohio assembly facility as a 1964 model year truck.
• The 383ci stroker V8 crate motor was built by Blueprint Engines of Nebraska, and supplied by JEGS. It incorporates aluminium cylinder heads, a new chrome Holley carburettor, braided steel hoses, polished rocker covers, and a custom exhaust system.
• It is also equipped with a TCI Streetfighter transmission, chromed alternator, and new stall converter.
• In the cabin, there are Dolphin gauges, a retro AM/FM radio, and custom upholstery.
• The truck comes with receipts for almost all of the modifications and upgrades currently fitted.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage.
• Its Electric Orange paintwork is in generally good condition, with normal wear and small stone chips, but no major marks or blemishes.
• The chrome is all in good order, and there are ‘Custom’ branded louvred panels over the cab’s rear pillars.
• Inside, the seats have been updated and feature grey striped cloth trim, and they are in excellent order with no significant wear or damage. The same finish is applied to the door panels.
• The dashboard has been painted in Steel Silver with custom graphics and presents very well, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel is in place.
• At the rear, the load bed is aged and scuffed from use, but the wood slats are still in good order.
• The electronic speedometer needs a new sender unit, and the gas gauge does not currently work correctly, but there are no other known electrical faults.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Over the last three years, the engine oil has been changed every six months. The truck has been used sparingly during this period, only covering 300 miles or less per year.
• The new crate engine was installed less than 1,000 miles ago, so is still in very good order, and is now through the running-in period.

SUMMARY

This Chevrolet C10 ‘Stepside’ is a well-presented American classic with some discerning custom touches. The 383ci stroker engine is a particular highlight, built by one of the most respected names, and delivering modern levels of performance to this 1960s icon. While there is now some minor wear visible throughout, it makes this C10 a great choice for a relaxed and usable cruiser, and the performance on tap is sure to put a big smile on its next owner’s face.
